In the lead-up to a new Horizon Track Day starting on the 9th of October, the community is all mixed up on this. The Forza Horizon official Twitter account hyped the newsworthy event and under it, people started to share different opinions, most of them centering on one topic: Porsche. Lots of Porsches.

The event rolls out the Track Day theme, visiting the oval and fighting for basically liquid platinum. And according to another tweet by Forza, the rewards surely are heavy indeed. There’s a lineup of series rewards that include the 2017 Porsche #92 Porsche GT Team 911 RSR and the 2009 Lotus 2-Eleven. Now for those weekly rewards: 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, 2023 Porsche 911 Rallye, 2023 Porsche 911 GT3 R, and 2019 Porsche #70 Porsche Motorsport 935, along with some Backstage Passes.

It can be said that the mere listing of the cars should have had everyone jumping for joy! Well, no, not exactly. This went instantly sour, and in some areas, quite salty. “Seriously? You have had this playlist not a long time ago and we have again? I am dissapointed on you all community,” said Shaden99, one player. To put it frankly, it seems like an opinion shared by some gamers; it’s a rehash, a lazy rerun instead of something fresh.

But the main event, main drama, if one must say, is the overdose of Porsche. User Vig Gao (Hu Tao only) was leading the charge with what seemed to be endless responses. After the list of awards was posted, he said, “I DON’T WANT NOTHING!! πŸ‘ŽπŸ‘ŽπŸ‘Ž” Said their fellow community members were “Faking Porsche fanboys” and even a “Shitty community.” Basically, the source of their anger was that the community had voted for this track-centric series with loads of Porsche cars instead of a Dia de los Muertos festival event, which they think, could be more fitting for October. “Ignoring the fact that October is Halloween month, I’m disappointed as a Forza Horizon player for eight years. Tremendous waste of opportunity,” he vented.

This was back-and-forth. StorxzX commented, “Everyone really loves there Porsches don’t they 😭,” while Bubbledupplee cheekily dubbed the game, “Porsche Horizon 5 indeed.” The notion was clear: a hefty portion of the player base holds the German sports car manufacturer dear. But there’s no unanimous agreement. TomiTapio begged, “Please, no more ‘Track Porsche! GT 2/3/4. Made between 2008 and 2025!'” Seems like for some, the saturation point is more than reached.

While the brand war rages on, other things are happening. User yousyo was joking: “Bad news. I will be ‘los muertos’ for the next 4 weeks,” an amusing take on missing out on the Dia de los Muertos theme. 215GtownKid inquired with a clearer tone, requesting that developers, “write these as a list and not a paragraph going forward” when announcing rewards. And of course, there’s always that one guy, ryuthesamurai, who asks, “Another paid add-on??” despite this being a free update. Classic.

So, where is the real tea? Horizon Track Day, as it begins on October 9th, will bring a huge load of content, more so high-performance Porsches, into Forza Horizon 5. This piece of information has torn the community right in the middle. On one side, you have the Porsche enthusiasts probably thumping their virtual engines already. Then, on the other side, one has those who see the game turning into a one-brand show and missing out on more opportunities for thematic and varied content, especially throughout the spooky season. It’s the old… the “can’t please everyone” one, but Playground is actually going after the Porsche fans this time. Whether that is or is not going to be a good idea…well, the comments section already drowns everybody with their speak. Loudly, that is.

So yeah, buckle down those steering wheels for some track Mayhem come October 9th, even if you have to prepare for a sea of Porsche headlamps. Wait, what was I saying? Oh right: oval track, fast cars, internet arguments. The usual Forza Horizon experience.
