Alright, attention all speed enthusiasts. Forza Horizon doesn’t take long to bring in another one of those Backstage Pass votes, and Forza Horizon’s official Twitter account knows it. It changed its tone to the awkward humour of a sophomore in high school: “Another EV battle is taking place at Horizon Backstage! Cast your votes for two supermarque and electric puzzle combos!” The responses we got? Uncontrollable. In the very best way, like a drag race with no clear winner.
There are two pairs of bonkers supercars in this battle. First and foremost, the 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and the 2022 BMW i4 edrive40. The other half of the field? The Ferrari SF90 Stradale and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N. How can you even choose? Imagine being asked to choose between pizza and… more pizza with extra toppings. Both options are just as absurd.
Although, the notorious commentary heat continues in the comments section. People are NOT keeping their composure. Someone named SusanneEdv31295 just gave their vote without any additional commentary: “2023 chevrolet corvette z06. 2022 bmw i4 edrive40.” No fluff. Straight to the point, and they’re not the only ones giving up on the fight. DominicKir68111 fuels that energy as he coins, “I vote for top all day zo6 c8.” The energy is just contagious. Like this isn’t a mere game, it’s a way of living.
On the other hand, Louis Stomboli (yes, that is his name) shares some sort of strategy: “I voted for the bottom because I genuinely want another SF90 to run an Assetto Fiorano version, but all the Highway Drifter lunatics will vote for the I4 since it’s a BMW.” LOL. Calling the “Highway Drifter lunatics” is new, but isn’t it true? The BMW fanbase is… active. At the very least.
Then there’s this other guy MrBear4873 whose unlike the rest of us restraining ourselves to the sidelines, is out here fantasizing about Unobtanium cars. Commenting on Louis, he said “My dream car is Unobtanium man 😭. Guess I just gotta keep rolling in the 2000 Cobra R til it comes back into rotation 💔” – that’s a mood. And a whole vibe. There’s so many of us waiting for that one car to show up in the playlist or the auction house. The struggle is real, folks.
Here’s more of a tangent. Some players are using this as an opportunity to ask for… random other things? Like Im_credible, who went in with a request: “Will we ever be allowed to use drift suspension on trucks and SUVs? It doesn’t look like a hard request. It looks like it’s something that should’ve been doable from day one.” The guy just hijacked a vote announcement to inquire about drift trucks. Respect the hustle, honestly.
The usual Forza community debate then turns up in the replies. Myra 🌻🍉 threw some fuel on the fire “all backstage voting options should look like this, and all returning cars should be in the autoshow.” And a lengthy conversation started about the Backstage Pass system and the returning cars’ accessibility. Raily🇩🇪🇫🇮 responded “and what would be the point of the backstage pass then lmao.” The back and forth is what makes this community so… alive. Every individual has an opinion and they share it to the world.
While certain folks are struggling with voting, others are here to admire the visuals. PolishCarsFanV2 said “That corvette looks good” – don’t disagree. The C8 Z06 truly is a masterpiece. And while dragonborn took the post a step further, comparing it to “promoting those miniature cars you see from Burago” – somehow they have the point, the photo does give that vibe. Little toy cars ready to race.
Yet, it seems the most intriguing bit is the hint of desperation in some of these votes. BonesEDM pleaded: “For the love of God, this vote needs to go my way!!” Using all caps to emphasise that. It truly punches through your screen. At the same time, ghostspeed288 posted a hype GIF that said “Absolutely up 😁😎👆👆👆” – no words required at that level of energy.
Stevio2175 further explained, “60% from stream went TOP/LEFT” – so the Corvette and BMW pair are in the lead but with the Ferrari and Hyundai still a choice, it can go either way. The SF90 was released in the Cinco de Mayo playlist, so some might already have it, which makes the other choice more appealing. It’s all about strategy people!
Then there are the other odd requests, like Jedite0X asking for the “2026 Subaru WRX tS” – Hello, this is a vote between cars already in the game, not a wish list. But shoot your shot. Alongside that is the mysterious “Could we swap that?” by Sebastian – swapping what? The cars? The options? The entire game? This will probably remain a mystery.
This is the type of talk and debate that I personally enjoy in the Forza Horizon community, because it’s more than just driving fast. Everyone has something to say with these small but significant interactions, which includes arguing and hoping to get that car you’ve been looking out for. The Backstage Pass votes constantly bring out the best, and sometime the absolutely insane, comments in players. No matter which side you’re on, Team Corvette/BMW or Team Ferrari/Hyundai, there is one thing that is certain: the one who wins will have made a lot of people very happy, and there’s always another vote coming up for the ones who lose.
You’ve still not cast your vote? Make your decision and vote battle now! Each vote makes the community stronger! And maybe in some other universe, drift trucks might actually exist. Hope is what keeps the player alive!
