There was a community-wide explosion of passion when the Forza Horizon Twitter account dropped émoticône de petit-cigarette with “Ready to hit the open road!” inscription. Following this, an incalculable number of people just opened up about their automotive fetishes all at the same time: a jet stream of wish-list cars and dream destinations simply being shared with little seriousness-the nicest thing I have witnessed all week.

Even a simple tease about the open road sent the official Forza Horizon Twitter account into a frenzy of pitches about their own description of the perfect road trip and pairing of their favorite cars with actual places. This pure community involvement encapsulates the very core of what gamers want from a racing franchise– a personal meaning and fulfillment of their automotive fantasy.

Let’s check some of these answers out-it is interesting how specific the public can be. Philip Richards wants a Lexus LC500 for classy grand touring through Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. Nick dreams of driving an R32 GTR all across Canada – I would call that pretty darn epic! Kacper had to respond with, probably, the most specific one yet: a Fiat 125p to Kalety, which is reportedly an underground village somewhere in Silesia? He then proceeded to try to explain it to another person who had no clue and responded with “czego kurwa nie rozumiesz,” or “what the fuck don’t you understand”- this is a real passion, folks.

This is not the only European road trip mention, however: John Abraham wants an amazing Aston Martin DB6 driving tour all across Europe, whilst somebody else mentioned the Bavarian Allgäu with a Mercedes SLR McLaren 722s. This is beyond mere cars – they are crafting whole experiences in their heads.

Japan kept popping up repeatedly. Multiple mentions and discussions about passes to Mount Fuji, drift culture in Tokyo, and Skyline R34s- top-level influence of Japanese car culture about this fan base. One person even just listed ten kinds of JDM legends he’d take on mountain passes. High respect for the drift life.

Adding from the practical: Land Rover Defender 110 for NC500 in Scotland with family, 90s Suburban for Florida to Alaska (that’s LONG drive, dude); and then come my favorites: ’99 Saturn SWP for any twisty mountain road. Respect for that Saturn appreciation; that’s a sign of some specialized taste.

Such kinds of things are quite interesting to watch, really. A lot of these people are basically describing what they want from future Forza Horizon 6 games, yet none of them probably know it. When it popped up that someone mentioned “the whole Horizon 2 map,” or when people have been begging for specific cars to go into FH6, I’m pretty sure the developers are taking notes.

There was far more meta-commentary: somebody flat-out proposed VR mode as “the next best thing” to actually going on these road trips. Meanwhile, another few mourned that half the fun is “the random convos you stumble into on the road” – which, honestly, is like the very in essence Forza Horizon experience for sure just because.

What a crazy range from muscle cars coast to coast across the US, to RX-7 drifting through Okutama, to the one who frankly wants to drive a Ferrari in Italy just because…and it’s an amazing blend of realistic ideas and just straight-up fantasy.

Also, isn’t it nice that these are never fought over? Everybody just shares their personal automotive happy place, from that Scottish Highlands Morgan 3 wheeler to somebody trying to lobby Pontiac WS6 and Buick Envision ST into the game. Different strokes.

Laughter was sprinkled throughout the thread- Uncle Smile just chilled out and dropped a “Yall could never” with a gif, “I need that particle effect all the way up,” which is as gamer as it gets. Everyone knows they’re talking about those ridiculous exhaust effects.

That just shows that Forza Horizon really is more than a car racing game – it’s a channel for the players’ imagination. Players aren’t really thinking about lap times or winning races; instead, they’re picturing these very detailed scenarios in their heads about an ideal drive with an ideal car through an ideal location.

It’s sort of beautiful in a way. With a world dotted with so many complications, they kind of almost say to you: “Let’s drive the hell out of here anywhere beautiful!” And that’s really Forza Horizon; creating that escape even if virtually perched.

The answers range from practical family trips to outright fantasy scenarios, but one thing is common with all of these: a passion for cars and wanderlust. That makes the Forza community special; every single person has their own vision of automotive glory and all are accepted.

Next time you’re driving around in Forza Horizon, start thinking about what YOUR dream road trip would be. What car? Got the destination? The idea thread has so many sick concepts buried away in those responses, worthy of your time; or at least enough to talk about in your next commute on your PlayStation or Xbox.
