Forza Horizon left one very simple question open, and this question was enough to start a huge debate between the players: “What’s your preference: turbocharged, supercharged, or naturally aspirated?” The official Forza Horizon Twitter account hardened the question by posting a poll where it captioned, “Everyone has a preference-what’s yours?” And then the gamers went on to fill the replies with passionate opinions, memes, and well, outlandish demands for future games.
First, let’s examine what pandemonium ensues. Some players are hardcore turbo fans. A certain Twitter handle, @popnewsocks, said, “Depends on the car, but turbo 9/10.” Then there are those who miss supercharging all day long, kind of like @DominicKir68111. And then you have your NA purists like @American_N3rd, who simply stated, “Natural all the way.” Of course, then asked those never-ending questions @Michael26749036: “Where is Twincharged?” (Just so you know, Zenvo ST1 has one apparently.)
But it was not just about their preferences for engine types. It gave a lot of players the opportunity to air their grievances. @ItchyButRash even said, “Why can’t save files transfer from Xbox to PlayStation? I don’t mind buying the game twice, but it’s a little upsetting, 300 hours on Xbox having to restart on PlayStation.” At the same time, @Bconman44 simply “broke down and purchased Forza Horizon 5 for my PlayStation pro” after playing it on Xbox and calling it “such a great game.”
And now, for the unexpected requests. @GulagTime_ got all car nerdy with the community and requested FH6 to have a “7.3L Powerstroke Ford Excursion” and “6.8L Triton V10 with supercharger.” @Douglas43283057 demanded a Forza Horizon 1-3 remastered collection and a “new Forza Motorsport de verdade” (translation: really good Forza Motorsport). Meanwhile, @XboxJuan4K was simply interested in getting the VB WRX back in the game.
That’s when it became anecdotal. “It really depends on the car. Most of my tunes use turbo charging, but sometimes I prefer a naturally aspirated engine for the lower end torque,” @MazezRealm explained. Then @rainiernqc sliced it by brand: “Lamborghini: NA. Lamborghini Urus: yeah sure put a turbo. Japanese: twin turbo. American: NA, supercharge or turbo, depends of the application.”
So, there were memes. @PolarD0G posted on TMZ a clip of a screaming NA engine captioned “Naturally aspirated, obviously.” Then @Ajgingerman went on to complain about invisible barriers in rival clean lap accolades. Classic Forza.
So, which is it? The debate splits players in the most passionate and sometimes humorous discussion about engine preference. Are you with those who adorably twist for turbo, with the Army of superchargers, or are you one of the purists for NA? What Forza Horizon just said in a Tweet was that car geeks love arguing as much as they love driving.
If you need to be uncertain, take the diplomatic phrase from @KingPoshGaming, who says, “Depends on the situation.” Words of wisdom. With this, go ahead and rev up with your choice, and please refrain from crashing into those cacti. Again!
