Forza Horizon had allegedly put up a spicy question on the game’s official Twitter account, after which the gamers came as a storm online to react. The account asked, “Every generation is iconic, but which is your favorite?” along with a swank image showing Porsche 911s from across the decades. The reactions? Well, they surely lived up to that.
The original 930 got a lot of love. CK 🇺🇸 basically referred to it as the “widemaker,” and if you know anything about Porsches, that is almost a legendary name for a reason. It was raw, untamed, and damn near terrifying in the best way possible. TomiTapio went for the lighter generations, weighing anything from 2100 to 2390 lbs would do. Because if you ask me, less weight equals more speed; in turn, more speed equals more fun.
Then, of course, we have the present-day gentlemen. Darkflame paid high respects to the 992 Turbo S and GT3 RS, dubbing them “absolute dream cars.” Chris J. Long and Anton went in all the way for GT3 RS love with Anton droppin’ a pic of the 07 model like a mic drop. PolishCarsFanV2 kept it short and sweet: “the new gt3 rs… is it basic? yes. is it goated? yes.” One cannot really argue with that.
And then you have air-cooled purists. ColtenJackson10 took us on a nostalgic trip down the lane calling 993 the last of the greats: AWD on the Turbo, air-cooled engine, pure mechanical bliss. Third Ghear went berserk in retro-mode shouting out the ’80s models with that iconic black rear wing. Gotta respect the OGs sometimes.
And then the wildcards. Fabian White was simping for the Cayman like a loving partner (“Only Cayman 🇰🇾 feel I am in love ❤️”). R4M_vonMartritz and willoto2000 were having an entire sidebar about the Top Gear pedal-powered 911, what else would they be talking about?
Then, I think one of the realest takes was from Mister Gunboat, who just could not pick: “Very hard to pick just one… they’re all great.” Really? Mood.
So what does the verdict read? Well, none. Porsche has an outright fan for every generation, and Forza Horizon players are so clearly split on that. Whether you’re against the old-school or just all for the cutting edge, one thing for sure is that Porsche can give you something to talk about.
Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’ll be booting up Forza and pretend that we can actually afford any of these.
