Fortnite seems to do the job for now in all things cosmetic. Internally expected to hit the game anytime now, this new crazy shoe batch has players going nuts over designs that might well stand as airplane shoes. You read right!
The insider designs put the community into frenzy: street-fashion style sneakers, and, um, jet-themed literal kicks that seem to come straight from some high-priced high-octane action flick. And the gamers? Polish is yet to be formed. Some love it; some are confused, while others are begging Epic for llama slippers instead.
There were loud discussions about the Daigo kick designs perhaps relating to the classic Street Fighter character Daigo Umehara himself. Players and viewers @zureska and @Idk14006381 were all over the top, screaming in synched caps about the swirl and eye details of those shoes. Then, @Owen45840178 just simply stated, “they’re fire.”
And the icing on the cake was airplane shoes. Yes, little-mini-jet-looking shoes strapped to your feet. The reactions were… mixed. @GambitMeta found them “goofy,” whereas @DegensJournal said, “I need airplane ones.” Then you have those who are mocking Epic for making plane shoes over llama slippers, suggesting questionable priorities.
No Fortnite leak is complete without chaos in the replies above. @chefsexy1220 humorously mentioned resisting the lure of a 9/11 joke (yikes), while @MemesAreWerid93 warned that the Godzilla emote would best be blacklisted if paired with these kicks. In contrast, @Plurgur and @LunaireGaming randomly started singing, “Darling hold my hand,” just because they could.
The real question is about how to release these shoes. @AnasJnh has a valid point: why not put the kicks in the battle pass instead of sprays and stickers that are basically useless? Meanwhile, @pizzasoda777 wonders why Epic is still encrypting original cosmetics, to which I say, good question.
Leave players theorizing, memeing, and debating on which kicks are worth copping until an announced date. Will the Daigo kicks be the next must-have flex? Will the airplane kicks be the next default dance of footwear? Time will tell.
What we do know is that Fortnite is so at odds when it comes to sneakers. Whether for hype or for a good-natured laugh, these kicks are making waves. Now polluting this air; how about we keep refreshing the item shop till they’re in?
