There are some talks and rumors that the Victory Vibes tab in the Item Shop will be refreshed tomorrow, allowing players to purchase some of the leaked ICON emotes. BB Belt (Ice Spice) and Ratatata (Babymetal & Electric Callboy) are the two most awaited emotes coming in.
Now for the ill-informed, the ICON emotes are basically the dances or gestures that typify a moment in time affecting an artist, influencer, or pop culture broadly. Previously, they were massively famous for the easy-going nature behind emotes like The Floss and Orange Justice becoming instant classics. Looks like Ice Spice and Babymetal are likely to be next in line.
The BB Belt emote is expected to feature Ice Spice’s signature characteristic dance, which has already been gaining TikTok fame, while in Ratatata, a collaboration between Japanese metal band Babymetal and German electronic group Electric Callboy, should definitely bring back some of the high-energy headbanging moves in the dance floor.
It’s an interesting time for a refresh since this has already been rumored for some time. Data miners reported seeing these a couple of weeks ago, but Epic had held off for some reason. Maybe they were just waiting for that perfect moment to drop it into Victory Vibes rotations?
But now, the big question is-do they have a price tag? As far as ICON emotes go, prices range from 500 to 800 V-Bucks-though due to the hype surrounding these, they just could end up price-graded higher. Agreed, Ice Spice and Babymetal fans might have already started saving for it.
In all honesty, Fortnite emotes are beyond ridiculous to be taken as dances. These are very much what you could call cultural milestones. Who didn’t troll with Ninja’s Take the L? Then came Renegade blitzing everywhere. If only these two make it to the store tonight, it’s yet another win.
For those in with eyes for BB Belt and Ratatata, the Item Shop refresh may just make for an interesting night. Epic does some weird drops, and tonight might be such a night.
Nothing’s confirmed yet, but it sure looks like a whole overhaul is on the way for the Victory Vibes. Go warm up those fingers; spamming those emotes in-game might happen sooner than you think.
But in relevantness, if things were to ever not release, something else will be launching-and oh so soon. Next week? Tomorrow? Ever heard of the term “when”? All that matters is when it shows up, and if it finally does, I bet the lobbies would be chock-full of players busting out those dance moves while gunning each other down.
So V-Bucks on standby-in case.
