September 2025 marks the release date for the Fortnite Crew Pack. Release date, however, isn’t the only detail that matters. The pack raised a ton of questions, and some of the questions were simple confusion. Questions such as the lack of an emote for a new skin. While the rest of the pack was released as promised, the emote was not only missing, but there was no indication that it will be released later. The promised emote was the obvious absentee.
What may concern you more than the absence of promised content is what is still available to you. In this case, the new skin is the feature of the pack, and yes, it is getting some attention from the community in the right way. In fact, a community participant even went as far as saying it is the “best crew pack skin ever made” which is a bold claim considering the community has been filled with bangers since then. Another user said it “reminds me of Fusion” which, if you know Fortnite skins, is high praise. The visual design seems to be a hit among the participants.
Now coming to the emote for this pack, numerous participants are stating that the emote wasn’t there the moment their Crew Pack items were added to their locker. “The emote is the only thing I wanted man I was so disappointed” is how one participant expressed and indeed it is a bummer when you are paying for a subscription service and a part of what you are expecting to garner doesn’t show up.
Some are wondering if this emote was meant to be a bundled emote or a milestone separate item. Some thought it was built into the skin itself while others assumed it would be a separate locker item. It is not showing up for anyone and it seems to be the source of community outrage.
Some of the immediate reactions from players would be to assume “Epic being greedy again” which is, well… maybe? But it could also be a bug or a delay in some sort of item. It is also believed that maybe everyone who would be buying the Crew Pack this month would be getting the emote later, in October. Speculation is all that there is to it.
The reason this should have not come as a surprise to the Fortnite community is because the community has been prepping for the Fortnite frenzy with the OG season coming on October 3, the music event on October 14, and the Lego mode launching on November 11. With so much content coming, players have been debating on what they should spend it on.
Ranting about Fortnite Crew on the basis of unsubscribing helps to generate an oblique perception of ‘I haven’t heard this one before’ takes, but as argued, ‘You feel like you’re not getting what you’ve paid for’. In this regard, I agree with the argument. One person did state that the skin was ‘technically for free’ for having Crew from last month but added that they would not resub without the emote situation being resolved.
In relation to the aspects above, the value perception of Fortnite Crew is being debated. With the battle pass mostly done for a majority of the players and only the music pass remaining, the subscription fee begins to come under question in relation to value. This is even more in question if the promised content from the passes is being left out.
Although the unreleased emote scared off the positivity, the skin helped mitigate it. The skin’s design is what partnered with the emote’s void because unlike the emote, the skin is getting praise from every corner. Calling it “fire,” players are saying Epic “actually cooked” with this one. Instead of the entire pack being a disappointment, the pack has just this one piece that people were really excited about.
At the drop of a hat, Fortnite is one of the few games that is able to change everything. Perhaps the emote will be included later today, it may become a shop item, or maybe it was never planned to be a part of the pack (even though player sentiments lead me to believe otherwise). The Fortnite community is truly unique in how silent they are about the demands, yet at the same time, they are impatient when it comes to waiting. This never-ending loop is exactly how the Fortnite community is defined.
For now, it appears that users who purchased the Fortnite Crew Pack for September are at least able to use the new skin in Fortnite battle. Accordingly, due to the absence of the emote, players won’t be able to perform any special moves with the new skin. Let’s hope Epic clarifies the issue surrounding the missing emote so players won’t have to wonder about it any longer. A customer pays for a product, it is their right to receive the full deal, and it is Epic’s responsibility to get the advertised product to the customer.
