The new Fortnite weapon, Swarmstrike, has very recently been teased. Players have been losing their cool over this. The official Fortnite Twitter channel posted a picture of this molten weapon, captioned, “Introducing the Swarmstrike. A sure fire way to clear the nearest infestation 🔥.” So… expect things to be wild.
So, first things first: What is the Swarmstrike? What little we did see looks to exist as an instrument to annihilate millions (or bugs). Some of those weapon statistics were caught in the bottom left corner of the image by eagle-eyed viewers, showing a blast radius being 1.0 versus meters and a range of around 200 meters-so that thing literally has both reach and boom fam.
Players began throwing around theories that this was clearly a case of a possible bugbie season or inspiration from Helldivers, seeing that many of the replies outright mentioned the game. TryH4rd_Gaming went on to say, “If there is ANY indication that this season will be somewhat like Helldivers, this should hopefully be it. With a weapon like this 🙏 bring on the bugs.” And honestly? Mood.
The buzz is utterly real, with comments such as LiranPlayz commenting,”This weapon actually looks like its gonna be fun to use,” and BRAYARB saying, “I hope it’s overpowered.” A joke was cracked by ArtificialXennial who said, “I can see all the rats now,” to which Szerro replied, “It works on insects of all kinds,” attaching a meme; just classic.
Not everyone is happy; some players are putting the old side eye on the definitely plausible bug-heavy visuals. Havingfunthere_ merely confessed to wanting a setting “not to have to look at these bugs,” which makes perfect sense. Arachno-phobia mode?
The Nick Eh 30 fan club then rolls in with a joke-reply, ”That’s not family friendly, @NickEh30,” with others already picturing custom lobbies for pure destruction.
And you would expect skin requests with every Fortnite update! KintamoriV2 was begging for a Highwire reskin, BooAngelDust demanded, “Can y’all just put Chichi in the game man what the helly,” and Omega_squadrant joined in with, “I’m just saying if we don’t get one single Helldivers skin you’re throwing.” The pressure is ON, Epic!
Next in chaos: CorpseNoobAgain shared a GIF with the caption, “Let just get it over with.” And honestly? Same energy!
Whatever the case, Swarmstrike is sure to bring the chaos, whether it’s tied to one hell of a bug-themed season or just a standalone nightmare for ranked mode (shoutout to leooooo complaining that ranked gets everything)-one sure thing is going to be Fortnite players eager to burn some bugs. Or rats. Or whatever else gets in their way.
Now, when can we expect this thing to drop? Well, no dates are officially revealed as of now, but we’re surely not going to wait much longer, considering the speed with which Epic rolls out new stuff. Keep those notifications on.
