The hottest skin that has just been dropped onto the Fortnite scene is Selbi, with details already causing much excitement amongst the players, mainly because of the unique Peely back bling. ShiinaBR took to Twitter to say it is a sleepy girl with a pillow pickaxe, and an unconscious Peely strapped behind her. If that was not enough already, another free item is gifted with the first purchase of the web edition along with using the creator code to support ShiinaBR. But let’s just be real here. Everybody is talking about the Peely back bling.
The design first has to be… well, weird. Selbi seems like she is going to stumble out of bed, needles in one of her legs (players speculate those might be tranquilizers that she uses on herself?). Then there is Peely: the beloved banana, apparently darted into unconsciousness. Attention to detail goes really far–players noticed the dart placed into Peely’s side and the holster on Selbi’s leg, leading into theories that Selbi literally kidnapped him. Like, what kind of lore is this??
Reactions have gone up in the fullness of polarity. Some of the players instantly fell in love with the design and called it fire as they rushed to buy it (Nepoleyaerox gets a shoutout for using ShiinaBR’s creator code; you are MVP). Joining the disagreeing crowd is Nishoncé 🌺, who just declared that the hair “wasn’t cute enough” to warrant a purchase, whereas FroGGyStyle said, “I want skulldroid not this HO.” Harsh but fair. On the other side, Curiosity Compass glitched into detective mode and put the darts on spotlight like it was a true-crime podcast.
For Peely times, people are losing their minds on that back bling; esmy♡ screamed in all caps saying how cute it was. Yet not everyone is sold; Yoganster was questioning whether it’s worth it, while Toni from DawgDaDolphin said the leg strap kills the vibe. And after the announcement, Kobayashi’sSon was back with this one: “What the fuck.”
Side drama must always be present during any Fortnite update. Natalie G was too bored since Power Rangers dropped, and Momo was demanding Epic to announce the One Punch Man collab already. Meanwhile, there’s Calybops out there, begging desperately to be gifted the Serenade skin, to which we die in agreement.
As for the verdict, weird and chaotic addition into the ever-expanding Selbi in Fortnite roster, and the players are here for it, with the “Peely abduction” speculation stirring up some side-eyes. Whether you love it or hate it is another debate; however, one thing is for sure–Fortnite sure knows how to keep all of us engaged in conversation. Now, excuse us while we go find out if Selbi is the sleep-deprived scientist or a menace with a dart gun. Either way, 10/10.
