Epic Games Twisted the Dawn with the skin Lunelle, and talking about it on the World Wide Web seems insane. Dropping today as we speak with one catch – one must have made a purchase on the Fortnite web store first, else it’s free reward. Yes, free. But some are reporting issues, and some simply dislike the sight of the skin.
The announcement came from the usual suspects. ShiinaBR dropped the news, and the floodgates of replies were opened. In terms of style, we are looking at a sort of moth-girl vibe with crazy hair, really funky art, and another really funky outfit-art; however, not everybody is having a ball with it.
Some even blatantly said, ‘the hair ugly asf they did her dirty,’ and I kind of feel hurt by these words. Another said that her face looks totally different from the shop icon, which is always a bummer when it happens- you see one thing in the preview and get something completely different in-game.
What most players are worried about is how to get the skin. The tweet reads, ‘FREE ITEM FOR FIRST WEB PURCHASE,’ but players are saying they are still getting banana backbling instead of the Lunelle skin. One user asked, ‘Is she the free item or is it still that f-ckass banana?’ Which, really, is the same question.
There is a workaround though: ‘Buy something cheap in the item shop on the web version then go into Fortnite and return the item so u get ur nicks back but you keep the skin,’ explained one. So this return thing basically makes it free, smart.
However, the design is really winning some hearts. The official Lunelle Fortnite account (yes really) called it an ‘Absolute amazing design’ with heart eyes. Others say, ‘need this skin’ and that it’s ‘pretty good,’ so, mixed reviews.
The timing is curious also because of the rumors of Daft Punk skins next week, some players are advising to save your cash for those instead. “Save it for daft punk bro, they’re arriving next week.. way better than what we got here,” read one reply, which launched full-on musical argument in replies, of course.
There was also that one commenter who mentioned she looks like a character from Murder Drones but couldn’t remember the name, sending me on an endless rabbithole trying to figure out which character they meant. Wait what was I saying? Oh right Fortnite skin.
That web store thing, of course, is part of the Epic’s fight to try and get people using their web platform to purchase. These types of free-item promotions have been done several times, but usually, it’s guaranteed something less considerable, like a backbling or an emote. I mean, a full skin for free, therefore, quite significant from a reward point, even if you have to make a purchase first.
In recent times, we have seen a new lot of skins popping out of the Fortnite items shop; this is just another addition to the huge lot. From collaborations with big-name artists to original inspiration designs such as this, the game’s cosmetic offerings have never been so diverse.
Another question is already being raised, though, like ‘where are the Yu-Gi-Oh! Sneakers,’ because there is always another on the pipeline. The PlayStation community never ceases to look forward to another big thing.
Whether you vibe with the Lunelle or consider it ‘goofy as shit,’ as one player has put it, it is worth checking out because it is free. Just follow the right steps so you don’t end up with dumb banana backbling again.
The skin is already out in promotion on the Fortnite web store, which probably means it will be in the regular store in no time for those who miss out on this free giveaway. Name a boring day at the Fortnite item shop, and I will make an effort to disprove it on Xbox.
