Fortnite players have lately been buzzing about a brand-new skin with the Peely backbling that has just come to the Item Shop for 800 V-Bucks. The notice came straight from the famous leaker HYPEX, who also gave the link for the actual purchase of the skin on Twitter. And as always, the community furnished many strong and entertained opinions.
The skin stands out because of its uniqueness; some singled it out because of its blue eyes and not everything said nice things about it. Another user claimed, “Ugly asf,” but others would like to put together combos among which the Minty pickaxe is one. Also, with the Peely backbling being that fan-favorite item, it’s expected that this would be the center of attention, and hundreds of comments on this end hype it.
Well, not all bought the hype. Some felt it was overpriced, one marine going to say that this bundle “should’ve been 1200 max.” Another contestant came out that he “won’t be spending any of my V-bucks on this skin,” calling it either “boring” or “ass.” And then there are a few others who still hold their fingers crossed for some other skins, like the long-awaited Clyde, or the return of Polo suit.
The responses truly indicate how unpredictable the Item Shop can be. One guy jokingly said Epic Games “made a skin to honor the C6S1 XP exploit island,” while others comment, saying that “most new skins have furry ears.” Then, in an entirely new universe top through the diagonal, came a totally out-of-context “JESUS CHRIST LOVES YOU” from some random dude-now that’s some typical Twitter chaos.
Being an Epic Partner, HYPEX took it a step further in the tweet by introducing a creator code, so fans can choose to support him if they pick up this skin. And buy or not; one thing remains: This and similar Fortnite cosmetic drops always stir up discussions. Some have dubbed this one a “must-cop,” while others are saving their V-Bucks for something else.
But still, the question of all questions remains: when is Spirit returning? And thus, immediately, it continues to be a bone of contention.
The Fortnite Item Shop thus remains a revolving door of for or against cosmetics, and this one has made no exception. For or against, Epic would give players a reason to check the Shop every day. Now if only they’d remember to bring back the Polo skins!
