Epic Games has created a social media frenzy on Twitter, releasing a bombshell Megazord key art date-Tuesday, 16 September. All the while, the Fortnite community has gone crazy in trying to figure out what this is. Power Rangers collab? Some kind of new mech vehicle? Boss fight? Nobody really knows, and everyone is just going for it.
The years of tweets from ShiinaBR basically read: “MEGAZORD RISING – UPDATE KEY ART,” along with the date and a link. Nothing beyond that. No other details whatsoever. Just one giant robot towering over the island. Immediately after, players bombarded the reply section with questions, concerns, and plain excitement.
Within seconds, the big hill came up: “so what, no update this week?” by a user named HeroicBlaze. It really hit me. Because typically, Fortnite updates land on Tuesdays, and this is September 16- next Tuesday. Does this mean we skip a week? Morgan from MoonsickMorgan said right out loud, “So is there no update tomorrow? O.o,” and that’s really the vibe.
The second layer: “idk but there were supposed to be 2 updates today – 9.9 and next Tuesday 16.9,” Joseph said. Wait, were there supposed to be two updates in one day? How the heck? And Morgan is being all reasonable: “Those dates were on the trello creative roadmap, right? I always like to take those as just scheduled dates until Epic themselves release the official announcements.”
Meanwhile, some actually have real issues plaguing them-paul A Kane: “I claimed the Dino Megazord skin when I got to level 200 last week but it’s nowhere in my locker. Is it a bug?” Oof, I hope it’s a bug, for the guy went through the grind to 200 and didn’t get his reward. Fingers crossed for a fast fix by Epic.
Well, there are collab questions on any board. Slots LV: “When are we getting the God of War Collab?” And CarlosTorrez: “Any Kratos by chance returning?” Everyone hopes that maybe their favorite crossover could return. Then Misa asks if the d4vd collab got canceled due to investigation. That’s a new one.
But the overall vibe is hype. Luis stated, “Peak collab can’t lie,” while just2red Wallpapers said, “Megazord was so cool.” And that’s actually true-It does look pretty rad. Emmanuel Ramirez said, “This will be fun,” and, honestly, I agree-with or without knowing exactly what this is, giant robots in Fortnite are going to be a fun time.
There’s also some skepticism, “Watch it be weaker than superman,” commented TiuNight. Fair enough. Remember Superman was to be this powerful character, and then in-game? He was just… okay? Fingers crossed for Megazord to live up to expectations.
And then there’s one person who said, “Yawn. Where’s wave 2 of The Last Airbender?” Like sorry, not every update can be exactly what you want, dude.
It’s just really interesting how these people interpret this. Palm questioned, “Power rangers in da house!! Or is it a transformer? It looks like both ngl,” and honestly, it does kind of look like both. MartinezOnChain just said, “rise of the robots,” which feels very accurate.
That’s what really confuses everybody-The update shouldn’t hit until next Tuesday; so what happens this week? Is it a no-update week? Maintenance? Some small hotfix? Nobody knows, and Epic isn’t telling. SpushFNBR said, “CONFIRMED: The update 37.20 drops TOMORROW!”; then, the official tweet says September 16, so…who knows?
Oh, what we do know is that there is something called Megazord coming to Fortnite on September 16. It looks huge and mechanical and probably is a crossover or new gameplay mechanic of some sort. Beyond that…it’s all speculation and confusion in the replies. Typical Fortnite update cycle, really-Epic drops a cryptic teaser and lets the community go nuts trying to figure it out.
Personally, I’m just hoping it’s not another item that gets vaulted after two weeks. Remember the mech suits? Those were so much fun until everyone complained and they got removed. Here’s to hoping that the Megazord thing sticks around a little longer. And hopefully, it’ll be powerful, unlike some other crossover items that promised big things and delivered… a lot less.
Anyway, mark your calendars for September 16, I guess? Unless there’s also an update tomorrow? Or both? Fortnite’s update schedule is confusing sometimes, man. Actually, that giant robot is coming. Should be a blast to see what it actually is when it drops next week-or maybe tomorrow-who knows, really.
