With the PlayStation being considered as it were the biggest news-maker of the week, Fortnite players might just be in for a ride on the Megazord. Yes, nine times out of ten; the monster bot of Power Rangers is finally here in the game, and honestly, I really feel this is by far the coolest crossover ever pulled.
What is going on? Basically, Epic Games collaborated with Hasbro, or whoever owns Power Rangers these days, to add the Megazord as a new vehicle/mech that you and your team can get in and start wrecking havoc on the island. This is no mere skin; this is a full-on transforming machine equipped with guns and everything! That obviously imputed some debate in the replies because somebody was like, “@PlayStation The Megazord never had weapons. Only in its ultimate form.” Well, like, who even cares? It’s Fortnite. They can do whatever they want!
Player response has been mad. People just went off freaking with delight. @SumiSanX basically said, “Shiiiiii I’m all in for this!” and…yeah, I feel that. And then @Sheener2016 got in saying, “Fuk me now I have to drop everything and play fortnite 😤,” and that is extremely true to life right now. Like, while we do have loads of stuff to do, Megazord >.
Of course, not everybody seems to be happy about things, because it’s Twitter and someone always has to complain about something. Some folks were complaining about PlayStation Remote Play being down?? Like, what does that have to do with Fortnite? Anyway! Then came the huge mess where someone was trying to cancel someone else over… I don’t even know… and things escalated quickly in the replies, as always.
Interesting is the fact that it’s split across regions. That is pretty interesting. @Gero_XZ says, “Japan players must be having the time of their lives playing Fortnite right now but also probably confused why the dinosaur sentai is still so popular in the west.” Such a good point- Power Rangers have always been more famous here as opposed to Super Sentai in Japan, right? Or wait. Maybe I’ve got that backward. Whichever.
The timing is likewise very interesting, though, for there were a lot of people asking in the replies about State of Play announcements and showcase events. Like @vaughnXvon literally said, “Tuesday state of play announcement,” as if some Megazord sighting had to be that. And @thedeathgraver followed up with “Me still waiting for the state of play announcement for next week” with a crying emoji. People want those PlayStation events, man.
That is, speaking of squad vehicles, number one. @JhumKaLogic posted “Me n boisss,” the exact vibe for it. Imagine fighting through your final circle jammed into a giant robot along with your whole team. Just unfair—in all the good ways. Although @TheFutureBunny made a great point, too, “I feel like if you participate in this event, you should get that monster as a backling or like a pet.” That would be sick.
There’s always someone with a dumb request completely unrelated to anything. @242bountyhunter coming through with “Remaster the legend of dragoon”; bro, they’re adding a giant robot to Fortnite, this is not the time. And then @ControllerGuard has the savage “@PlayStation Don’t care give me back Concord” which, oof, maybe a little too soon?
But mostly people are hyped. @InfinityGlock99 said “Oh damn this is so goated fighting with megazords haha” and also “Go Go power rangers!” because of course you have to say that. And @NoBanksNearby went with “Zordon would be proud, Alpha!” which couldn’t be more perfect.
And the best part? This ain’t no limited-time ordeal; it looks like part of the game now. You can legit pilot the Megazord whenever you want (if you can even find it). That basically means we will be seeing a bunch of giant robot battles in the coming weeks. And honestly, that’s awesome.
While Fortnite has always been the darling of the crossovers, this might be the funnest of all. This isn’t just a skin; it’s actual gameplay changes-you do it with friends. It’s something that makes you want to pick up the phone and call your crew and say “Hey, we gotta play tonight, they added the Megazord.”
There will always be someone complaining about something new, though. @underdogplayzzz called it an “Illegal Monopoly for kids :)” which like, what does that even mean? And @lioncleggy just said “Nah feels the same” which is just objectively wrong because it’s a giant robot.
Mostly, though? Mostly people just want to live the childhood dream of piloting a giant robot while fighting monsters. And honestly, same. This is exactly the kind of crazy, wild, innovative content that keeps Fortnite alive and kicking after all these years. Who knows what they’ll tack on next-but for now, it’s morphin’ time!
