Just a few days ago, Epic Games lastly released another enormous piece of pop culture in Fortnite and they say that it complements the graphical interface very well. The official Fortnite account on Twitter announced that the iconic character Doc Brown along with the famous DeLorean Time Machine had landed on the island which also gave the long-awaited Back to the Future cooperation a green light. Not only will the players meet the physicist but they will also be given a chance to board the car that could easily be put alongside the light gun as one of the most iconic ones in the history of cinema.
The partnership that is built on movies of the past is one of the reasons Fortnite comes across as a digital plaything that easily surpasses all others. One moment you are fighting alongside Goku and the next you are constructing a castle next to a DeLorean. It is absolutely insane! The announcement was met with the same usual chaos and hype along with the requests and complaints that have become synonymous with the Fortnite community’s presence on social media. Among all these, the replies to the tweet show a more comprehensive and messier picture of the thrill that comes with a new skin drop.
The first thing that happened was the exhilarating atmosphere that was almost palpable. And ‘Thickbarbieboo’ made a heartwarming request for Code Lyoko. The whole thing is a beautiful yet chaotic mix of different fandoms that are all together venting their wishes into the same void hoping that Epic is listening.
There were, no doubts, some comments that were wonderfully specific and weird at the same time. ‘Zero Point’ stated he was ‘sad that he doesn’t have this style,’ and attached the image of Doc dressed in the 1950s manner. ‘Mohnet – Gaming.’ so precise, asked if Crew Pack owners would get a KIT backbling sidekick for free. And ‘yoonix94’ told a whole story about him having to refund the Daft Punk McLaren in Rocket League to have enough money for the DeLorean in Fortnite because of the cross-platform copyright mojo that got him into trouble. It’s the little, personal anecdotes that make everything feel so real, you know?
And, of course, you cannot just ignore bugs! ‘Lord Matty’ made a very simple request, ‘Please fix the stacking presents!’ A request that was festive yet very urgent.
