Fortnite came up with this crazy creative mode called Island Escape, and the hype has gripped the audience; some want to enjoy it, others are looking for fixes, skins, and even a… “sex update“? Yeah, that’s literally the kind of day we are having in the Fortnite community.
With the island code of 5127-5736-9581, this mode pits the players into a high-stakes game of looting, strong-arm-mini-games, and betray each other for survival. Guards should be ensuring that neither the sabotage nor the outright elimination happens to each other. So basically, some chaos is mixed with strategies, and the reviews are mixed.
Then again, some find it endearing. Some, like Scooter_Fan01, said it was “fun af,” while another player, TheAgentShadow, confessed that he/she/they (gasp) wasn’t a huge fan of this Squid Game-inspired map (yes, comparisons are pouring in). And at last, then we have the perfect summary by MetaBaz7: “Island Escape is basically chaos with rules. Sounds fun or just an excuse for players to ruin each other’s day.” Can it be both?
You know, all Fortnite updates bring in a flood of requests for the developers. DanielLovesArt went full-on rage-capital-locks over the broken locker preset shuffle, a bug apparently plaguing players since Chapter 2 Remix. Then Sean_Keta entered with Xbox-specific complaints, begging to get compensation in V-Bucks for, surprise, something being broken for them all season.
Then there are the… one-of-a-kind requests. Dreamy tossed in “Add the sex update for us contestants,” which, uh, alright, dear. Now, Alejo75073539 requested an Ariana Grande skin, and walterwhite5041 lamented the whitening away of the One Punch Man collab announcement. Classic Fortnite Twitter.
That assassination of performance is another story. It was described as very “buggy” and laggy by joaoc_fgfb_2024 from across the pond, while halofreaked reminded everybody of yet another bug fixed forever-going-on-nine-months. Let’s not forget the creatives—there was even HumanLegacy95 suggesting someone should really build an actual real-life Squid Game place underground because, really, why not go all out for the theme?
All that madness means those that are hyped for it. Epic Smasher kept the vibe alive with a good “Aoww Aoww!” and Biggie agrees it’s dope. But let’s be real; a Fortnite community that is ever satisfied is a rare one. Between Jones Unchained skin demands, 2-ball items, and bringing account merging back, the responses were a mixed bag of exciting, irked, and meme worthy.
Islands Escape—is it worth it? If you like betrayal, mini-games, and mayhem, absolutely! Just don’t expect the community to ever stop whining about bugs and collabs anytime soon. Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to be sitting with cautious curiosity, awaiting that “sex update.”
