Creator and Epic Partner Dahja has recently let the cat out of the bag, announcing that her locker bundle named ‘Gwinny Gang’ will begin to be available in the Item Shop tomorrow and it will last until December 18. Furthermore, she is encouraging her supporters to use her creator code ‘Dahja’ at the time of purchase; content creators highly appreciate this. The revival of the bundle is a major aspect of the Winterfest event that gives the impression of blending the holidays with some of the prettiest and cutest cosmetics.
Such was the manner in which the announcement was made, and the response from the Fortnite community, to be precise, was instantaneous and somewhat chaotic, in the best way possible, through Dahja’s Twitter account. People literally went to the extreme. One of the gamers, Chase, could not hold back his excitement and said, “I WAS JUST ABOUT TO ASK ABOUT THIS YAY!!!! I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR IT TO RETURN I MISSED OUT ON IT THE FIRST TIME.” The same feeling was everywhere. Another user, praabee, said, “When the first locker bundle came out I only purchased the joy but this time I will get the whole thing.” This shows that a lot of gamers are going to be preordering their sets.
But do we have the question of what all are the pieces in the bundle that have gotten the people all crazy? And again the answer is Gwinny Gang; the skin ‘Joy’ is part of the bundle which is a really cute penguin-themed outfit. Along with it is the ‘Bundles’; a lovely little penguin that you can have on your back—and the ‘Waddle’ that lets your character do a funny little penguin walk emote. And this is not all, there is also a stylishly matching wrap to give the cool frozen look its final touch. It is like a complete penguin costume for your Fortnite character, and it will surely create the right atmosphere of Winterfest with the snow all around.
The response buzz was just too hard to resist. A user, ‘thedryzombie’, was initially confused and posted, “WAIT DID YOU MAKE BUNDLES OR IS SHE JUST IN HERE CAUSE I USE HER EVERY YEAR FOR WINTERFEST,” only to have a light bulb go off: “wait it’s cause of the penguin backbling isn’t it i just realized 😭”. Yes, the penguin connection is an obvious sign of the winter season. Of course, not every single response was sheer, unblemished delight. So welcome to the internet, right? Some players were the ones who already had everything. User ‘iberrusreal’ just said, “i own everything in the bundle, nice,” while ‘hoagiemouth123’ sadly said, “But I own all this 🥲”. Then the good old Fortnite criticism of the shop reared its head again. One user, ‘GoodboyGhost143,’ was not overly impressed and called it “Another trash locker bundle. Why is it always skins and emotes that are in the shop once every couple of days?” Tough, but hey, one cannot expect that every bundle will be liked by everybody. Another, ‘Silly_Nejire’, uploaded what they titled “Rage bait”: “Discount on items I won’t use.” See, there must be that balance.
Nevertheless, the overall mood was that of a party. Creator ‘Fungary’ dubbed it “absolute cinema, congratulations Dahja!!! 🐧🛼”. ‘Tokkicacti’ lauded it with the words, “REALLY GOOD DEAL OF AMAZING COSMETICS!!”. And ‘MarqMask’ told a lovely story by replying to Dahja: “Hey dahja, do u remember when I asked u about your locker bundle coming back? well, guess who just fell off his chair out of EXCITEMENT OMG THIS IS SO GREAT I CAN FINALLY GET THEM TYSM AND CONGRATS 🥰💗”. That is the kind of emotional bond that exists between the player and the creator which makes these creator bundles so special.
Conversely, the commercial side is also very intriguing. When you use, for instance, the creator ‘Dahja’ code when making a purchase in the Fortnite Item Shop, you give that creator your support instantly and directly. You will not have to pay any extra money but you will certainly make a big difference to the likes of Dahja. This kind of creator support is a feature across major gaming platforms like PlayStation and Xbox.
