A very slick free Corvette collaboration is on and will be dropping on July 28 for Fortnite players. I said it! Free. No V-Bucks needed. Judging by the online responses, this may be the most popular digital car ever.
After the announcement was put out for the collab, the Fortnite community went insane. And why wouldn’t they? A Corvette in Fortnite is almost like a dream come true for car buffs who love dropping in Battle Royale. The few reply tweets were flooded with hysteria, skepticism, and energy along the lines of “wait, this party is REAL?”
One user, @Jmoneydog84, made a nice joke about how he is still cruising with the free Scorpion car like it’s 2022. @BestyBattalion on the other hand said it was an “insane upgrade” over last year. For all intents and purposes, it indeed is. The sleekness of Corvette just might make the rides of last season feel like golf carts-if it is a fast ride that is.
Then there were the skeptics. @MattThunder9 tweeted with suspicious tone: “All these free things are too good to be true, Something ain’t right 😑.” Can’t really blame him. Epic has been generous lately. But free cars with luxury in a game? It ain’t happening!
Then came @Soulbound_TV with very relatable words: “The only way I’m ever owning a Corvette ðŸ˜.” Same dude, same. At least, on Fortnite, we can pretend to be ballers without actually paying six figures for one.
Some people are making their demands; @Daniyal39244789 suggested reducing some Battle Pass cosmetics and adding car skins instead, calling the Corvette “🔥imo”. And @Dogwifahat5? They want a Mustang GTD revival. Priorities now.
For whatever reason, add a dash of confusion to any Fortnite update. @rhythmdark asked if one needed to play Rocket League to unlock the Corvette (thankfully no). Conversely, @BlinkOnce103 is already angry about having to wait for it to hit the item shop-though that tweet is saying it’s free, so fingers crossed.
Really now, though, the question would be, how does this even compare to last year’s Cybertruck, which, well, let’s just not talk about that. @lightShadow116 straightforwardly said “so many people hated the cybertruck because it was very trash.” Ouch, but pretty true.
While only days are left before the Corvette hits the game, players have already started planning inaugural joyrides. @Mrninjaslay3r put it perfectly: “Holy peak. For free is crazy.”
Mark it on your calendars, then, because July 28 is going to be a splendid day for all Fortnite fans looking to go fast, flashy, and free. Epic, please throw a free garage for an additional brownie point.
And if you miss it? Oh well. With Fortnite’s track record, the Lambo collab might just pop up next month. Probably.
