What a disappointment. Brazilian Fortnite fans who were banking on dropping into the battle royale once again via the iPhone are going to have to stay patient for a while. In a fresh tweet via Shiina, a trusted source when it comes to Fortnite, Brazil’s reinstatement for iOS devices is now being rumored to have been deferred from August to October. Yes, two additional months to wait.
So where’s the story? The precedent had Fortnite staging a big re-entry onto Brazilian iPhones this month. Looks like Epic Games opted to delay it even further. None of the reasons have been laid bare, but if we are to speculate, perhaps some backstage red tape with Apple. Remember, these two have been scrapping in courts for years, and Apple’s cooperation with Fortnite has been anything but timely.
User reactions have been… all but fantastic. Some, like @richadsonk0, are already saying that this delay might be stretched all the way into next year: “And better say it now because this sht will only come next year.” Ouch. So far, though, others are trying to keep an optimistic tone, with one user, @SkylineETH, stating, “October it is then, let’s hope it’s worth the wait.”
From other territories, players are commenting, too. @Katelyn_clouds from Canada asked if anything would be done about Canada, in reference to playing mobile Fortnite, while @reep0rk of the UK questioned if there’s any news for theirs. Well, the whole Fortnite mobile saga sure is an international affair.
There are also those whom it does not bother. @AintHeTooSuave bluntly trailed off: “Don’t care most of us do not live in Brazil anyway.” Harsh, sure, but not everyone finds this particular delay interesting.
Certainly, the next onslaught of memes and jokes is going to start with the delay. “Shiina, when is sex coming to Fortnite?” quipped @delayedisback1, while @RockyTacoBean lamented, “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FORTNUT PLEASE COME TO BRAZIL.” The internet never disappoints.
But don’t forget the poor victims here-the Brazilian players that have been waiting so patiently (or impatiently) for the game to come back to iPhones. @ssinr_ thus put it: “Brazilian fans waiting longer than expected can’t wait for October now.”
So what’s next? Well, October is the target unless Epi actually throws its users a curveball once again. Whether it’s going to stick though or just get pushed another time is a whole other question. Until that happens though, time to kick back and get some levels in somewhere else or even venture outside for a change.
And hey, there’s always the Peacemaker skin to bet on. Because this is apparently all that anyone cares about right now. Just ask @ReedRichardsFN: “We just want Peacemaker skin reveal at this point.” Priorities, right?
So, Brazil, keep it tight. October isn’t that far away. Perhaps. Hopefully.
