If one moment could ever capture the generational hype around anything Solo Leveling even for a second, some Fortnite players are in the midst of shedding their minds. And that is some hype, right? The famous leaker originator of the controversy was HYPEX, with parties breaking into two sides, one for Sung Jin-Woo skins and the other for Hunter x Hunter representations. But here is the twist: Epic Games has NOT come out with any definite information about this, so maybe all that shouting should not be taking place.
So first and foremost: What really are they talking about? HYPEX tweeted, “please fortnite lock in 🙏” with a picture that I swear was screaming Solo Leveling at me. And the gamers got into mass hysteria almost instantaneously. Some of the replies included things like: “WE NEED MERUEM” and “nah bro Hunter x Hunter would go harder.” The whole chaos is just so delightful.
I mean, obviously, this had to be officially confirmed in the eyes of these guys due to how BIG Solo Leveling is right now. It had to better record crushes on CrunchyRoll, steal all the anime awards, and really, how go-harder-would-a-skin-of-Sung-Jin-Woo-shadow-summons-in-Fortnite-ever be? Then, the other party’s like, “Wait, we got anime skins, where is MY Collab with Hell Divers??” The duality, man.
This was all practically because of how big Solo Leveling is right now. It must have beat out the record for most views on CrunchyRoll, took home basically all anime awards, and frankly: How hard could a skin for Sung Jin-Woo walking around in Fortnite doing shadow summons hit? Then the other side starts asking: “Yo, we got anime skins, where is MY Collab with Hell Divers??” Such duality, man.
Whereas the Hunter x Hunter folks, they’re calling for Gon or Killua to hit the Item Shop, claiming Solo Leveling is mid-tier compared to the GOAT anime. Somebody replied with “Fortnite if actually lock in” alongside an image of Hisoka-an argument that is hard to refute. That dude would break the game for good.
The other side: Epic has been silent all along. No teasers, no leaks apart from baseless speculations, just mute silence. So what’s all this fuss about? Because for collabs, no one comes close to Fortnite. From Dragon Ball to Jujutsu Kaisen: they keep dropping heat, and the players need this next big anime win to be theirs.
Some replies, though… bordering on the absurd. One: “Bug season you say?” coupled with an image of a cockroach. Then the other guy wants Peacemaker because “we only care about John Cena.” The vibes are impeccable. The logic? There ain’t any.
What now? More waiting. Nothing escapes the long drag of Epic, and with Season 2 freshly out, there’s a good chance they want to hold off on another anime drop. But boy, if either Solo Leveling or Hunter x Hunter actually manages to land in Fortnite, there’ll be a widespread internet EXPLOSION. And we genuinely want to witness it.
Till then, keep flooding @FortniteGame with what drives you. If we are loud and obnoxious enough, maybe they surprise the heck out of us with Meruem. Or at least stop pretending they can’t hear us.
