…So, I guess Party Royale, in Fortnite, had more or less been kept on the sidelines from 2020-a couple of years-but Epic finally looks like it might be showering some love on it. A new render has leaked almost suggesting a big update for the new social hub mode. The players are currently going nuts over this.
The leak was released by a reliable source, NotPaloleaks, revealing a brand-new view of Party Royale that looks nothing like the current incarnation. Well, when I say nothing, I mean NOTHING. The present Party Royale island is nowhere near as glitzy as this new rendering, leaving many still wondering if Epic is really going all the way and outright overriding the mode.
One player had said already, “Party royale loo… looks nothing like this what” just summarizing the confusion. Another said, “This was the time when party Royal was going to be like this and this is totally not we got,” which makes me think this could have been original concept art now finally coming into fruition.
The community’s reaction still ran strong. Some were overjoyed; one of the comments exclaimed, “FINALLY, ITS BEEN YEARS WAITING FOR A PARTY ROYAL NEW UPDATE :D,” followed with celebration emojis. “Ngl if they redid part royal like this I’d play tf outta it,” was added by another, and honestly, same.
There is disbelief, though, within. Different players pointed out how Party Royale hadn’t gotten any sort of update in years, one commenting: “New party royale content since 2020 💔,” which really hit the hardest because that’s so true. One joked, “Party royale update before GTA 6 is crazy,” and, well, it’s really damn crazy if you put it in the perspective.
Some queries were rooted in practicality. One wonders if proximity chat will be added, which certainly would be pretty neat for a social space. Another mentions, “This mode gives zero xp btw..” which is something Epic probably would want to fix if they expect people to be playing it anytime soon.
There’s disarray with regard to whether this is truly new content or merely older concept art. “Wow, they actually remembered Party Royale exists,” said one player, which, honestly, mood. After those beloved pandemic-era concerts, it’s practically been forgotten about.
Speaking of concerts, another said, “I miss those concerts they did in lockdown,” which, yeah, those were pretty innovative. Maybe this update means big events like that are coming back??
Some players have started their wishlist for this project. There’s a plea for “New party royale map similar to brick life would be dope,” referring to that Lego mode that’s fairly popular now. Then there’s some who want Rocket Racing updates more, saying, “Rocket racing deserves to be rebooted more than party royale,” and that’s also fair.
There’s even conversation about collabs, someone’s asking, “Did any old collabs get updated?” One hopes “ghots ri durr to return,” which I take that to mean Ghost Rider? Autocorrect at work.
Definitely interesting timing. With Fortnite splitting up into these different modes like Lego and Rocket Racing, it’s high time the original social space got itself a fresh coat of paint. Party Royale was kind of the first stab at turning Fortnite into more than just battle royale, and with all these new experiences, it definitely deserves to be refreshed.
Some of the players have begun to speculate on what Party Royale 2.0 could look like. That render shows a vastly more detailed and interesting environment than the present mostly flat little island with very few interactive things. Proper mini-games or more interactive elements??
Then again, this could always be some concept art that will never reach the light of day. “Don’t trust Palo,” warns one player about the leaker, though NotPaloleaks has had pretty great credibility up until now.
What is for sure, though, is that the players want Party Royale content to be released. That mode has so much social space potential that it has been neglected for far too long. If this leak holds any truth-value, then the question becomes-if Epic did even bother to give it attention in the first place.
If that will be a full-scale overhaul is still up in the air, but for now, it’s definitely a buzzing topic among the Fortnite player base.
The outcry from the community provides evidence that Party Royale still matters to the people, even if it has been languishing in obscurity for the past few years. Hopefully, this leak fleshes out into real content that will bring players back into that social hub.
With that, we’ve gotten a little update on Party Royale itself. We’ll have to wait for Epic to do the official reveal on it, but until then, it’s all up to us to brainstorm on what could finally come to the long-forgotten mode. Danke schön, maybe finally, a nice social space that fans have been crying out for since 2020.
