So a Lord Zedd goes to Fortnite leak went massive on the net. This very weird collaboration is also quite interesting for a 90s child. Who would have ever thought Power Rangers making it all the way to Fortnite??? And this, here, is it.
According to NotPaloleaks on Twitter, the whole Lord Zedd bundle drops tomorrow at 8 pm ET and the… prices… are actually… not terrible?? For once?? Full bundle goes for 1,500 V-Bucks, which is about $15. And then you have Lord Zedd outfit for 1,200 V-Bucks, Z Staff pickaxe for 500, and emote Lord Zedd’s Magic for 300. That’s pretty fair compared with some of the collabs we’ve been seeing lately.
And oh boy, the comments section is going crazy right now. You have people shouting HELL YEAH LETS GO with such thunderous joy, whereas the other half is left scratching their heads and wondering where the guitar is?? Apparently, Lord Zedd had himself a guitar in the show? I don’t quite remember that, but there’s no stopping a fan from demanding what they want.
Then, we have this other whole side of debates on who this collab is even for. Like, one person said something like, “High-Morphin-Power-Rangers first aired in 1993…so most of those who viewed it are past 30-year mark now.” So Fortnite is by all means out here catering to millennials who sustain disposable income?:-). Then there was also somebody yelling “so call me 30.” Nostalgia is real.
What’s really hilarious is people who already speculate who’s next. As in: Will Ivan Ooze or Rita Repulsa or Goldar come next? And another one suggested that Rita might become an NPC first, which usually implies a skin later, so maybe this is just the beginning of a full-blown Power Rangers series in Fortnite? That would go nuts.
And guess what else is also hilarious? The Lord Zedd launch drops the same night as the Batmobile car. Like seriously, why do the devs decide on dropping two massive collabs at once? That’s buildup for people picking between their childhood heroes. But if you do have enough V-Bucks, then I guess you can go for both. Still.
The emote gets some questions too: Why is it called “Lord Zedd’s Magic” and not his throne?? Apparently, he had quite a cool throne in the show, and some people were expecting that. But hey, magic is fine I guess.
What is kinda really interesting, though, is their reaction to the prices: Like, multiple comments go “prices are reasonable” and “this bundle is reasonable” which is…not something you usually hear of Fortnite collaborations. It’s usually mad about how expensive everything is. So maybe Epic is listening?? Or maybe Lord Zedd just isn’t as popular as some other IPs so they priced it less?? Who knows.
Then there’s the whole side convo about whether 12 year olds even know Lord Zedd: Like, “12y olds be like” with a confused meme…And I’m like, they’re probably not wrong. This collab is definitely for the older crowd that remembers going up on Saturdays coming down to watch Power Rangers.
Then there’s that international crowd- someone just tweeted in French some giant meme saying “même moi avec mes vbucks gratuites je peux pas suivre,” which basically means, “Even me with my free V-Bucks can’t keep up.” And right? Struggle is real in trying to collect all the collabs.
What’s missing now?? A wrap! People are asking about a wrap. Most bundles come with a wrap, but this one doesn’t seem to have one. And someone said it’s a shame we have no Rita Repulsa skin because her costume would be quite difficult to adapt without changing too much. Which makes sense-like how’s one going to pull off that giant helmet in Fortnite??
And of course, there are already people asking about other collabs in the replies, like “anything on Black Adam so far?” and “any update on the JJK skins?” because, once one leak goes haywire, everyone wants to know about the rest.
But apart from this?? The reaction appears fairly positive. People are hyped for Lord Zedd coming into the game. The prices are peaceful; weird but fun additions to Fortnite‘s growing list of characters. Where else can you get Lord Zedd fighting alongside Goku and Ariana Grande?? Only in Fortnite, man.
So here’s an explicit shout-out to all Power Rangers fans; wake up and set your alarm clock for 8 pm ET tomorrow; your evil space emperor is stepping onto the island. This is just another date on the Fortnite calendar, really. The mad crossovers continue, and I’m all in for it, even though I have no clue who half of these characters are anymore. What was I saying? Oh right – Lord Zedd. Yea that’s happening.
