Fortnite Global Championship 2025 in France has just wrapped up, and what a spectacle! It was announced on the official Fortnite Twitter account that the trio of @QueasyFN, @SwizzY281, and @Merstach won first place and were crowned Fortnite Global Champions. The players’ reactions frankly ranged all the way from pure hype to downright serious demands from Epic.

Initial replies were a mixed bag of congratulations and everything-reflecting responses. AimeeByteBrite summed up the feeling many viewers had: “This was my first time watching the FNCS Globals and I was hooked-absolutely insane skill!! Loved every second!!!!” I believe that the level of skill shown in these tournaments is beyond anything else, and I am sure the judging was no different for the one held this year in France.

Then comes the backlash. Olmstead threw out a spicy hot take that the winning team got a gift because nobody contested their drop spot. “What everyone seems to be missing completely is the Lobby handed them the win by not contesting their drop one time. Arguably the best drop in the game. Not contested. Weak ass lobby. They are a top 5 or 10 team easily but they received a gift.” That’s a doom-and-gloom accusation, right? It makes you wonder about pertinent unfortunate features of strategy in these multimillion-dollar matches: is the first team winning for sure, or is there sometimes an element of luck in their favor?

The usual opinions come up in replies. People begging for everything, from Africa servers (shoutout to Fuckitpump with the #Africaservers hashtag) to Naruto skins again. SakuraNyx was pleading, “Could you please🙏🏻bring back the Naruto skins? And also the quest bundle? I would be super grateful, because I love anime more than anything and Fortnite too ofc👀🫰🏻💕.” One hundred percent classic Fortnite: Everyone is thinking about their favorite cosmetics after a big competitive event.

Then, there is always someone asking about One Piece. Rakeem Nichols (Themanbeastis9) posted, “@Fortnite WHERE IS ONE PIECE U HAD UR FUN NOW WHERE IS ONE PIECE” with a crying emoji. Because why not, right? The crossover demands never cease, not even during the biggest tournament of the year.

Some players are also raising concerns about the game itself. BrunoRo44325908 (Eobrian-) writes in Portuguese, “Please epic end with hacker and Cronus zen.” So, hacking’s still a big issue at the highest levels of play. And Matt Augusta (augusta_ma18407) is calling out Fortnite for cheating in ranked modes: “@Fortnite @EpicGames cheat ranks btw. Every season you start over rank but will play previous high skilled for low rank” facepalm emoji. Classic complaint: matchmaking has never felt fair, especially when grinding the ranks.

On a positive note, RepulseCo says it was the “BEST Fortnite LAN event to date 👐,” and that’s some heavy praise. If this year’s global championship in France was really that good, then it definitely sets the stakes high for any coming events. Production value, competition- you name it- went through the roof!

Well, that’s how I got washed away in praise, but QueasyFN, SwizzY, and Merstach are now backed with gold and the official title of champions. Can anyone fathom even half of the work and coordination required to win that? Those guys are at the peak of their craft now and carry that crown.

Alex Sar (alexmatthewsar) went straight in with some “congrats: “Congrat to Swizzy, Merstach, and Queasy for winning the Fortnite Global Championship. #FortniteGLOBALChampionShip”. Every once in a while, it’s nice to see someone just recognize the accomplishment without adding any drama.

And then you get the random requests: freakssterdragon wants Fortnite to create a Spotify account for all their original songs. Because why not? These games have a ton of tracks that players enjoy.

Generally speaking, the FNCS 2025 finals in France stood for an insane amount of gameplay and community engagement. Despite the usual amount of criticism and requests, there is a positive vibe hanging around this event. For QueasyFN, SwizzY, and Merstach, this will probably be a life-changing win, and it would be interesting to see how they perform in upcoming tournaments. Fortnite’s competitive scene continues to grow by the day, and if this year is any indication, we are gearing up for even more insane events ahead. So, congrats again, champions, with a huge shout-out to France for hosting what sounds like a truly memorable event.
