The new Power Rangers emotes came into Fortnite for a whole mixed bag of reactions-they curse being delight, others cringe, and a few are itching to spend bucks on it. The emotes include choreographed Power Ranger moves and catchphrases and are now up in the Item Shop. Already, there’s an unlucky split in the playerbase on whether this one is a good or a bad move.
First off, the emotes. Classic Power Rangers energy-go-go Power Rangers and “It’s Morphin Time” vibes, really. If you ever were a fan of the Power Rangers, pure nostalgia visits these moves. According to one of the users named @BaronOfZLand, the moves were “fing goated,” while user @Iam_Zafir10 called them just “fantastic.” Not that this opinion qualifies for a unanimous consensus… In the spirit of headlining the controversy, user @slotslv asked if anyone thought the emotes were “kinda cringe,” and boy, did that question open the floodgates.
The responses went back and forth between contempt and defense. @Bubz84411183 replied, “All be it Power Rangers is for kids, this was my childhood, so I feel nostalgia and happiness, idc if itβs cringe.” To throw in some more voices, @boxedbymantle responded, “I SPEAK FOR EVERYONE WHEN I SAY WE WONT BUY ANY OF THE SKINS ππππ,” @plxelhrts answered right back, “speak for yourself im buying them all.”
Speaking of money, quite a number of players really want to get their hands on one of these. @xixe_me exclaimed, “This will be the first time I will spend more than 20 bucks in a cosmetic WITH 0 REGRETS!” @GamingIsSexy was torn between the emote and jam track but finally made a decision for “HOLY AURA” in favor of the emote.
This one wasn’t appreciated by everyone, though. @CreepypastaProf said: “Iβve hated Power Rangers since I was a kid and this is the dumbest collab ever,” while @boxedbymantle backed it up, “they should have just sticked to being a dead franchise.” Ouch.
The question now is-how long will these guys stay in the item shop until being bundle-only? @RyanX1919 was already asking about it, and honestly, I was, too. @PogChamp89 wanted to know whether there was a transformation emote (hopefully, no news as of yet).
Ultimately, these newer crossovers just remind the game of the chaos it thrives on. Whether loved or hated, people are talking. That is exactly what Epic wants. So, if you’re a Power Ranger fan, grab those emotes before they go away. If not, well, there’s another collab coming up next week.
One thing is sure: Fortnite knows how to keep the community engaged. Excuse me now while I go and hit the Morphin Time emote wherever in any lobby!
