Fortnite dropped a serious cryptic tweet as though something crazy would be released with the Crew subscription, along with a flying butterfly emoji and a warning about flying objects. Now, that actually sent the players into a frenzy. The only clue we got from the tweet was “Drop into Crew…and beware of flying objects π¦,” and it certainly didn’t give away much; however, the speculation went wild.
To begin with, what is going on with Rift butterflies? Players fully believe they are an indication of something big, whether a new cosmetic, a gameplay feature, or a proper event. One player outright demanded a “Rift Butterfly Companion” while others are theorizing it’s connected with unreleased survey skin or perhaps even a Lady Gaga collab (because, why not?). The chaos in replies is peak Fortnite energy-none of the theories make sense, and nobody is holding back.
And here’s the dirt, the players definitely want to see a recurrence of old Crew skins even now. There are legit petitions put out from time to time, one saying, “Bring back old crew packs already,” with another replying, “Itβs been 4 years π€π.” Epic Games has never said if those exclusives would ever see a return, but a big “fie” against such demand for these skins-Oh, some players are already bashing them for not advertising the Crew skins with the same energy as other passes. Basically, in the eyes of many of these players, they do not support their most exclusive rewards.
Now, then, you have the usual insanity from the reply section-random calls to bring Travis Scott back, complaints about hackers, and someone asking if the Superman mythic will protect them from cheaters (lol). And, of course, the obligatory “bring back Team Rumble” comment-because no one bit of Fortnite tweets is about begrudging that statement.
What really is coming? No idea. But, with rift butterfly fever, combined with the stone-walling of Crew skins, Epic is definitely one of the major points discussed amongst players. Whether this means a new cosmetic, an event, or just more questions is for sure-This community will never let this emoji go without pouring at least a full-blown conspiracy over it.
And really? They’re literally the reason why we love them. That chaos, those theories, unpredictable madness-Fortnite continues to win by just keeping players hooked-whose top-ups have now been some old Crew packs…
