If you grew up in the ’90s or develop a fascination with animated fools, this was definitely the news for you. That’s correct; Beavis and Butt-Head are coming to Fortnite, but NOT as skins. We are talking full-on emotes here that have just leaked online, and really, they are just too amazing yet a tad bit tragic from another angle.

The leak came from the prominent leaker, ShiinaBR, who uploaded a video featuring the new emotes. So let’s put it out there early: In the first emote, Beavis air guitars to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.” Yes, you read it right. The classic riff is there and glorious as you’ve ever dreamed of it being. The players commenting in excitement; Coolpersonidk20 called it “peak,” while cam_doode spammed fire emojis throughout the guitar riffs. For sure, a good moment.

However, that could not be all perfection. Say no more, Beavis and Butt-Head. The other two emotes go into… division. One belongs to Butt-Head, while of course, the most sought-after is Cornholio for Beavis. Here, the community sort of split. Everyone wanted Cornholio, the alter ego with the shirt tied around his head, screaming demands of “TP for my bunghole.” The emote is there, and he does the transformation, but… he doesn’t say the line. Several players in the comments condemned this, including BioBoss21 and MsJessicaDrew. BioBoss21 expressed, “I know what they can’t add the ‘I need peepee for my bunghole’ part, but it’s sad to not have it there.” It’s totally disappointing. It’s like, that line’s pretty much the reason for Cornholio.

That was not all the criticism. Another thing fans had an armchair critique about was the character models. 2edgyneko commented: “they look like adults.. lol,” a fair observation indeed. The Fortnite art style is one-of-a-kind such that it tends to polish everyone a bit more… I dunno. They’re just simply different. And then there was the whole Metallica-shirt controversy. Many players, including _KatzMotel and renz88x1, uttered–pause for effect–“They have Metallica in-game, but couldn’t give him his Metallica shirt??” And that’s a perfectly valid point! Beavis is a known Metallica fan, and the Metallica shirt that he wears is the single most iconic part of his look. Sounds weird that it’s not available for the skin. But hey, they have the actual song to use in the emote. It reeks of irony.

The responses fluctuate wildly between pure excitement and utter confusion; the exact manner of reaction expected from a Beavis and Butt-Head tie-up. It’s just a classic sight that few could resist,” said Lizzelbizzel, adding, “Luv it 🔥.” Others called out for more, like Extrajoshmills, who was looking for “one where you’re just standing there laughing nonstop like an idiot.” That would have been the perfect emote. Non-stop obnoxious heh-heh-heh-heh.

A somewhat brief language debate even broke out, which is always a good time. Someone wondered in German if the Cornholio emote would get a German voice like some of the previous Star Wars ones did. The argument started when Reverse_Bobo jumped in on the war about the use of “dis” instead of “this.” The Internet, ladies and gentlemen.

So, what’s the ultimate verdict? An array of highs and lows but an overall W. The Enter Sandman emote is an instant classic; for anybody with at least a shred of nostalgia, it’s an easy cop. The Cornholio dance emote is brilliant but really lacks souls without the iconic “bunghole” line. And that whole thing is just so FUNKY for Fortnite. That’s just typical for them, snatching pop culture icons from every possible corner and putting them into the battle bus. Is that a little random? Absolutely. But is it also kind of cool? Also yes.

We’re not sure when these are going on sale finally, but these kinds of leaks usually mean very, very soon. Maybe within a week’s time. Put those V-Bucks to good use if you’re about to rock along with Beavis or become the Great Cornholio. Just maybe don’t expect him to actually ask for some toilet paper.
