It’s one of those now-famous announcements that have shaken the League community down to its core. Marek “Humanoid” Brázda, FNATIC‘s mid-lane player, is being moved to the inactive roster ahead of the 2025 LEC Summer Split. The tweet said it all, and it really was disrespectful to an athlete who relinquished much of his loyalty in the past years. There was no montage; there was no highlights. Just a Canva-ish graphic with a “thanks for the memories” feel.
Chaos reigned in the community in response. Half of the players and fans would say much the same; this ranks up there as one of the stupidest things FNATIC has done since the last stupid thing they did. Others thought it was time for this. For sure, it wasn’t what we imagined being the first change into Summer. Like, what about jungle and top??
Let’s get into it. Humanoid wasn’t some chump, in and out of the roster slots. Dude became an essential entity to FNATIC identity, especially during their highs (and you know there is just as much, maybe more to talk about their lows). There have been times when Humanoid, literally, won games by just popping off. But consistency? That’s the rub; that’s where it becomes a point of argument. Some fans yelling he was the guy costing FNATIC every final, with others responding, “Bro literally won MVP and y’all are acting like he’s washed?”
And now the manner the least famous former FNATIC Mid-Lane player was issued his release irritates people further. The whole “no-send-off” thing has players heated. Someone replied, “Four years and you can’t even make a 30-second video?” while another joked that Humanoid can now freely “go to Tomorrowland in peace.” Savage.
Meanwhile, conspiracy theories are thrown around. Some reckon that all of this was an effect of FNATIC firing their content guy (RIP Pete), so can’t even throw together a tribute vid anymore. Some others are side-eyeing where all that Saudi money’s going into, if not, y’know, honoring their players. And then there’s the other camp that’s convinced this is just step one of a bigger roster implosion.
What’s next for Humanoid? Replies are already fantasy-recording his upcoming team. NAVI? Reunite with Rekkles? The man is highlighted with options. But one thing that is certain is that mid-lane for FNATIC is going to look very different whether that’s good or bad, we’ll find out soon enough.
So, yeah. FNATIC is out doing it, and the internet is not letting it off. It is going to be a lot more interesting if it turns out this is a hit or the most spectacular flop in the history of the game.
