That awful battle royale celebratory moment-laden in-game event has gently rubbed some of the players the right way while others have been complaining about needed fixes, better rewards, and a return to the old stuff like the Crown costume.
So, what does the Anniversary Show present? A curated playlist of rounds from all eras of Fall Guys, giving the players their much-needed dose of throwbacks and… chaos. The event also comes with its own themed rewards, including a spiffy new cosmetic to commemorate the occasion. But glitter and confetti is scarce for the community due to complaints about missing team games and some rounds from past seasons, plus some outright begging for console stability fixes.
One would say that in the case of Fall Guys’ official anniversary tweet, all the ingredients of love, rage, and satire came to fruition. Player @FunnyDj1999 summed up the current state of affairs simply as “half a decade,” while @makunijiiro added a less-than-sweet touch: ” …would be fun to play if it was ever fixed from freezing and disconnecting on PS4.” Oof. Then again, on the bright side, @PabiloonRJ hailed the recent 60fps patch to Switch as the rebirth of the game. @MikeyP043 also reinstalled Fall Guys, only to be disconnected on day one of the celebration.
Now to the matter: Now, the Crown commentary. Many players, including @hawnmi and @Dank1170, want the iconic Crown costume to return for the anniversary: “Bring back the Crown! 👑” has become a rallying cry, even tagging the occasion as a missed opportunity for the event. Meanwhile, @littlebean_____ called out the devs for introducing “sloppy” newer finals while ignoring the rounds from the last season, questioning why an anniversary event would skip an entire chapter of Fall Guys history.
Performance issues aside, some players just want more from the celebration. @SrKocretta reminisced about past community events and giveaways, wondering why the fifth anniversary didn’t receive the same. Clearly, the players still care, but with the reactions to the anniversary, one can tell that they want more polish, more nostalgia, and maybe one more crack at that Crown.
