Fall Guys has officially announced their latest collaboration with One Punch Man, and the internet is having a meltdown. The Fall Guys account recently tweeted, “Anyone who gets in my way gets grabbed,” which is one of the catchphrases of One Punch Man’s Saitama in addition to a promotional image featuring the new Saitama and Genos costumes. The costumes are available for purchase in the shop now if you are a fan.
This is big news because it’s rare to get a collaboration featuring One Punch Man. For context, Saitama is the strongest hero to ever exist, and the jokes revolving around him are centered on the fact that he is able to defeat any enemy with a single punch. On a humorous note, the best he can get is a “bean” incarnation in Fall Guys, which is completely brilliant. Although the timing is strange, it does seem fitting since the community has made repeated requests for more anime collaborations.
What needs the most focus, though, are the reactions — particularly the replies. A number of players are quite pleased with it. User littlebean_____ stated, “W collab, we need more anime collabs in the game!!,” which is, for the most part, true. neptyze_YT was quick to add a request for “more collab like this one piece dragon ball naruto,” which would indeed be a celebration for the community. Imagine a course with Luffy or Goku in their skins.
On the other hand, the general gaming community is not equipped to operate without some negativity around the hype. As a courtesy, User TH1RDEY3BL1ND began with a nostalgia trip asking, “Remember when you could earn skins through winning crowns?” which admittedly is valid. The change in monetization after Epic Games’ acquisition has been disappointing to say the least. Also, XayDolla was direct in stating, “I would have got this before the devs sold out to @EpicGames and they f’d up the reward system with they greedy little battlepass system.” The feeling is very apparent here.
Apart from that, there are some amusing remarks. RPGMaster95 called it, “One Slap Bean!” which is definitely the right way to understand the situation. Then, OCurta called it, “One Fall Man,” which is delightfully straight to the point. Following ShanaMckeane’s line of thoughts, she said, “There’s no difference, the fall guys have always been Saitama because they’re bald.” Shana is accurate in this one.
Not everything is perfect in Bean land, though. PainfulGuy10 raised some actual concerns saying “pls fix crashes and saving/publish errors on Switch Port, ITS REALLY ANNOYING and make game unplayable and losing motivation to make creative rounds.” As much as it pains me to say, yes, that does sound incredibly frustrating. Likewise, DrewIsSuperior is still waiting on “Fall guys on the App Store in the US when?!” so the mobile launch seems to be taking forever.
What stands out the most is that some players seem to yearn for the older collaboration style. VincentTj__ had a whole thread about how they miss “Indie game collabs…. or with other AA-sized IPs” and even mentioned Slay the Spire, Hades, or A Hat in Time. They even said “I don’t really buy costumes anymore” which somewhat indicates how the move to bigger IPs might be alienating some old-time fans.
And then there’s the whole mystery Seahuman1745 is talking about regarding August 22nd, 2025, but like… what even happened that day? They’re insisting “nothing happened on August 22nd, 2025” which just makes me more curious about what definitely didn’t happen.
What makes it Fall Guys is the fact is that these games revolve around the multiplayer chaos as they continuously drip feed collaborators to cross promote. First it was Disney with now anime, Imagine the fandoms they can tap into. CoolT35 is already hyped for “DragonBall next?” and honestly it would make so much sense. Picture a super Saiyan bean powering its way to winning.
Clearly, this collab is for fun. Watching a Saitama bean one-punching his way through a bunch of other beans is what makes Fall Guys brand of chaos. Everyone will buy into Fall Guys, talk about it, and share this moment that encloses the marquee.
As a game developer, I understand this impulse, right? The need to create and constantly update content that lets players show themselves. Although the velocity changed, the fun remains; now I am off to do a Serious Series attempt: Serious Punch mid-race.
