An announcement that has been the biggest in many years got the community buzzing, or should I say “yeeting”? We got the hype trailer of the BIG YEETUS TOUR over at the official Fall Guys Twitter account, but players were…well, not thrilled to say the least. The responses were a bewildering blend of excitement, hounding confusion, and plain rage! So what awaits this new event and why are the gamer crows throwing side-eyes at it? Well, let’s see.
Just a little bit of explanation for those who aren’t into the Fall Guys language: “Yeetus” is the big hammer-like obstacle that throws beans here and there across the map. It has been in favour forever now, but here’s a catch: it’s allegedly been broken for some time. Like, years. Players blame changes to the game’s physics, namely the “Fall Forever” update, which completely wrecked how Yeetus used to work. And now Mediatonic is bringing it back to life front and center for an entirely new tour? Oh, what a timing.
What a mess of replies. Some players are roasting their own devs, with @Theo_PTJ responding “This would’ve been great if the thing you did a year ago didn’t completely ruin the physics and the yeetuses along with them.” Ouch. Some others, like @randomhandleidk, are just perplexed: “Idk if you guys play your own game but yeetuses have been broken for 2 years now..” It’s like having a party for someone who’s gone away.
And the finals, with Tip Toe and Fall Mountain constituting the final rounds; let’s say if all not everybody’s happy about it. @RealDogeMaster declared the brutal truth: “A show with the 2 finals being Tip Toe and Fall Mountain is something I refuse to play ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜.” Then @Banana222FG tried to defend the choice, but really- when all a mode has going for it is nostalgia and not gameplay, it’s a problem.
On the bright side, some players signed up for it. @JoshLeB0ss expressed his hype: “I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT THIS 🤯🤯🤯,” while @8EightAnimation said: “very funny 🔥.” While the forced positivity was drowned out by loud complaints of the physics, there is no better commentary of all than @GreenPeaFG_: “Big yeetus tour in the year 2025 wtf, anyways most yeetuses suck now because of the newer physics.”
What has it missed by the biggest margin? By not calling it a creative event. @Gabsi_42 replied: “Missed opportunity to make Yeetus variations of your creative levels.” Would you consider that custom Yeetus courses would have been a big win? Instead, we got a tour that feels like an autopilot.
To the big question then: that will be a big yes and a big roar of horror from old players. To carry on gathering masses, Mediatonic first has to fix the damn hammers. Or at least, listen to the people for the past two years. In the future, one hopes that less nostalgia will be the subject of the next update-(because at the moment, the Yeetus feels a little less like celebrating and more like reminding about when it started working).
