2020 is shaping up to be an amazing year for the video game industry in terms of new game releases. There are so many anticipated titles coming out, from in-depth RPGs to addicting platformers. One of the more anticipated in the zombie space has to be Dying Light 2 from Techland.

There are a lot of games currently in this space, but very few have mastered the traversal and environment recipe like the original Dying Light. You get to become a parkour expert during the zombie apocalypse. What more could you ask for, really?

The original was great in so many ways and the sequel is looking to be even better, if you can believe that. Even though it has been delayed and there currently isn’t a release date in sight, there are still many things worth getting excited about based on an extended footage of gameplay.

For starters, it looks like the parkour system has been expanded. It was amazing in the original, but this time around, your character will have more moves and resources to rely on when traversing through the crowded zombie streets. That will probably be a huge highlight in this sequel. There’s something so enamoring about jumping over tall structures like a professional athlete and diving underneath fences just in the nick of time.

Some new resources that your character will have include a grappling hook, pulley system for ziplines, and even a glider. They should enable you to cover more ground in a short period of time, which is perfect if you want to cut to the action a lot quicker or need an escape after becoming surrounded by a zombie horde.

Dying Light 2 also looks like it will have a more expanded story. That has been a highly requested feature. It’s not like the original game’s story was downright bad, but it definitely left more to be desired. You never really felt motivation to do the things that were asked of you. Techland plans to fix that by giving NPCs more of a back story. Not only that, but there will be an in-depth choice system. Everything you do will shape the story in some capacity. Not only does that make your actions count more, but it will give Dying Light 2 amazing re-playability.

And even though this anticipated zombie game is being put on the back-burner — at least for now — that just means the developer has more time to iron out its finishing touches.
