Well, Dr Disrespect had returned into the streaming world with a purportedly sour attitude about the game he had to play. The Two-Time poor soul announced his stream on Twitter from a very uninspired mindset. From the very beginning, Doc described a bittersweet tidbit about a director being on vacation. Then the tale reached a bloody level when Alex had instructed Doc to go and play this new game called “Baby Steps” while he was leaving town, and Doc calls it this pixel trash Baby Steps nonsense. Oof indeed. The Doc then goes on to describe it as a terrible waste of streaming time. Pretty much a put-down statement; of course Doc never softens any of his sharp comments.
The tweet was accompanied by a couple of links plus a picture with this good Doc looking rather different. Let’s say the thumbnail was an artistic choice. It had almost like a babyish vibe, and it did not go unnoticed for long by the players in the game replies. One of the players called “God OF DisRespect” basically said, “Lol the thumbnail is pure comedy.” And really, it is; if nothing else, it’s a stand-out look.
But now, here comes the real story: What in the world is Baby Steps? One player with the handle @MarsResident027, named Ryan, was asking the question everyone on the internet was thinking: “What. The fuck. Is baby steps?” I second that question, Ryan. This indie game has been around in some buzz, but seemingly not in the buzz Doc wanted. It’s basically a pixel-art game where you play as, well, a baby giving its very first steps. Hence the name–I am very proud of this. But for a guy who lives for high-octane action and crushing competition, controlling a wobbly infant probably feels like a step backward.
The reaction among the players was selective, as always with the Champions Club. Some players wanted to dive straight into the chaos. “@DruLagoon” said, “Oh baby I was hoping for this,” showing that there’s a market for anything Doc touches. On the other side, though, “@Ascending_Vesse” very much echoed everyone’s opinion: “Tarkov after we done pretending to play this nonsense.” Because, let’s be real now, ESCAPE FROM TARKOV is what the Doc belongs in.
There was some pondering about what was supposed to be going on here in the first place. Was it really just because Alex was on vacation? “@CardanoMfer” wondered, “Is it cause he’s on vacation or it’s cause you saw the post on Reddit asking the community if they thought you would consider playing this game this morning?” The idea of this being a secret community request. Doc having some fun with a silly little game for the sake of content. This wouldn’t be the first time a streamer has put themselves through some weird stuff just for the laughs.
Laughs were definitely there. Indeed, people were cracking up at the whole situation. “@pctech4uall,” aka Douglas Daniszewski and the greatest streamer ever, said, “OMG I’ve never laughed so much! Thanks 2 time..truly you’re the best out there!!” So while Doc deems it a waste, the viewers are cracking their knees from the humor. That’s what it is with Doc entertainers, his extravagant dramaplay sanctioned his way of whining would be more significant than the actual situation: the game almost became decor.
Some responses were pure gold, honing in on details; @EricDeyo spotted a typo in the graphic Doc used and said, “The graphic says Baby ‘Setps’… Is that on purpose?” Maybe it was. Maybe it wasn’t. With Doc, you never can really tell. It just adds to the charm. Another player, @SilvrBulletS197, enjoyed the spelling as well, commenting, “Love how ‘Baby Steps’ was spelled lol 🤝”. It’s the little things.
There were comments about… Doc’s physique shown in the thumbnail. Let’s say the outfit was… revealing. @KillerkoUK did not hold back: “Those man breasts are really showing in this one 😂”. And @Joshua_Louis joined in: “Noooo Doc! Not the front butt!!!!” So yeah, the visual was certainly a talking point. All about the theatrics.
There was genuine concern under all the jokes about the wellbeing of the Doc. @TBoiles offered some real-life advice: “Charge your phone Doc.” Always important. @PSparky1776 speculated already about Alex’s fate, tweeting, “When is Alex’s review up for his raise? Let this reflect…” You just know the Champions Club is going to hold it against Alex forever.
Now, what even existed Baby Steps? The game is patented by a small indie studio, and physics-based comedy is expressed in a game about the struggles of being a baby. You must learn the art of walking; bumping into things, clumsy and hilarious. For a streamer like Dr Disrespect, it’s like a 180 from his usual income-goes. And so therefore, it either becomes a legendary funny stream or a huge disaster. There’s no middle ground with the Two-Time.
On a cynical note, whether he liked it or not, Doc went live with it. That’s the magic of Twitch streaming. Sometimes the weirdest places provide the best moments. Forced pixelated trashy kind of moment gets turned into a hilarious moment for the communities to reminisce about for months. The game literally does not matter; the personality does. And with personality, Dr Disrespect is way above average. So maybe the stream wasn’t really a waste. Maybe it’s just one more chapter in the weird and unpredictable life of the Two-Time. The Champions Club will front it all the way.
