What does he mean by this? I don’t really understand the vague Dr Disrespect tweets everyone tries to decode. The tweet itself says, “I told you to leave me alone, I’m NDA’d outta my mind…” accompanied by an image of a golf course. As usual, the replies are a mess.
Dr Disrespect, also known as Doc, is an extremely well-known streamer. He is known for his flamboyant character, which is defined by the distinctive sunglasses and mustache. He tends to get himself into… strange… Drake. So when he tweets something cryptic people tend to dig in.
The NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) angle is what has everyone focussing on this. He is very clearly hinting at something he is not allowed to talk about. Maybe a new game, collaboration, or some secret project? Given that he has a history in game development, it’s possible. Or maybe something else — the guy is always doing almost something.
Moving on to the golf image. It is not clear which golf course is shown, it could be Pebble Beach or somewhere in Southern California. People are also “roasting” his golf skills. One person said “Amazing view but terrible shot doc, could use some more sky in the picture,” which is extremely weird. Another one said, “We’ve seen your swing you’re ass.” No chill at all.
While the golf is getting a lot of attention, some of these replies are a bit darker. There are some people making really nasty accusations in the comments. This type of behaviour has surrounded him for some time now. It’s truly awful. Like, can a guy just post a golf picture without such trash talking? For some reason, the answer is no.
From what I can tell, most of his real fans, the Champions Club, appear to be rallying behind him. One said, “Champs respect your time off Doc. Enjoy it, and we’ll see you next week inside the arena!” which is somewhat comforting. Another one just said, “Have fun doc.” So it’s a mixture of him being supported and not, which is how things usually go on Twitter.
The timing is sort of wonderful. I think he hasn’t been streaming a lot lately. Maybe just feeling that way. So people are expecting him to have a dull week. “I blame this boring week on you doc. How could you be so selfish” was one of the tweets. And that is vibe.
Of course, with his gaming history, there are jokes. Someone mentioning, “I will never forget your PUBG Stream on a Speedboat Doc,” which, if you know the context, you know. It’s a classic instance.
Going back to the NDA, that for is the only real mystery. What is he exactly not allowed to speak about? In the past he has done work for Deadrop, which is his own game, so maybe it is because of that? Or maybe it is a new partnership or even a streaming deal? There are so many possibilities, and that is the reason why everyone is so fixated on that tweet.
This is one of the things very Doc would do — be cryptic, mysterious, and involve people in the conversation. It is part of his brand, honestly. He gains hype even with a simple golf picture.
This is very “online.” A streamer with celebrity status puts out a cryptic statement, and immediately the entire internet is trying to decode it. At the same time, he is probably enjoying his day off at the golf course and is not thinking about any of it. But that is the game; isn’t it?
In any case, at least in the near future, it is very unlikely that we will have any details around the NDA. Usually he does give very vague hints around the speculation and people theorize. Then, after a few months, some concrete details come out. Or he never speaks about it. All of this is a part of the show.
So we are left staring at the golf course photo, wondering about the matters the Two-Time is dealing with, and hoping he, as the replies suggest, gets a better swing.
