DOOM fans, prepare yourself! The hype train is revving up for Diablo right now more than it ever did. In a recent review in GamesRadar+, the game is called ‘incredibly creative and simply superb fun.’ And truth be told, that’s only a fraction of it.
Along with appreciating the title, there was an equally sharp media input into DOOM’s official tweets feeding the rabid fanbase. Nothing surprising, considering the DOOM franchise has perpetrated a long string of high-octane demon-slaying lunacy.
Surprisingly, there was hardly an opposing voice heard anywhere. One would have expected that atleast one person would have stuck their neck out in the response section and written “uh, actually it’s mid.” Not one, silence. Just pure, unrefined hype.
And why is it so? To begin with, the devs did not pull their punches: faster gameplay, louder guns, and demons? Still scary. Not unlike mindless shooting at enemies. GamesRadar+ reminds you how much creative energy’s gone into level design and mechanics, so at least it’s not just the same old bloodbath all over again.
And about that media clip, no spoilers here, but if you watched it, you’ll taste pure adrenaline-chainsaws and shotguns and everlasting explosions into the face-Michael Bay would be freaking jealous. The excitement that pumps adrenaline into oneself to drop everything and fire up that game right now!
Yeah, here is the question: Where on earth are all the salty replies? Maybe it’s that DOOM is an elite series that knows-no microtransaction crap, no half-baked story-just pure and relentless action. And that, in itself, is a breath of hellish fresh air to the fatigued live-service gaming landscape.
All those undecided, use this as your sign. Grab your shotgun, turn up the volume, and jump right in there. If the critics are calling it super fun, then you know for sure it is something good.
Wait, what do I say? Oh, yeah! DOOM rules. That’s the one. That is the tweet.
