Ever grubbing Quelque-Nintendo-Une was the last straw thrown across the faces of gamers everywhere. Making it hot release for the critics was the most wanted 3D Donkey Kong Bananza platforming adventure with Pauline players. Already running in rounds as Game of the Year! And really, who would blame them?
Since the release of the game, players have been showering it with praises. One player named dragongaiden would put it simply: “This game is THE GAME 🔥🔥🔥.” Meanwhile, NintendanGX’s Dandino keeps himself allergic to ground developments: reaching a conclusion for himself as a thunderously hyped declaration-GOTY, “The year’s not over yet, but good luck to any other game trying to top my dream-come-true DK game.”
But there is the ebble flow of opinions. Some have been of the view that the player really wasn’t offered difficult enough charges, more in the level of “a mobile game.” Tom G. said, “I just wished for more than climbing and smashing all that is at will.” On the other hand, led by ColshopS, they believed that games nowadays are much more complicated and that Bananza’s simple platforming would be refreshing.
And waves are still being made in this debate; for surely, Bananza is stirred to greater depths. So, whichever way you grade the game for being too easy, the hilarious world, tight controls, and nostalgic nods to Rare’s classic Donkey Kong are there and unstoppable.
“Not gonna say why but just play until you finish the Forbidden Layer, do NOT put this game down until then,” Vortonian cryptically stated. What does it have in store? No spoilers, but it might just be worth the price of admission.
By now, Nintendo marketers are stirring the pot by backing up the game with critics’ quotes and flashy trailers. SelfAwarePear commented, “These reviews mean nothing when you don’t know who the person who actually reviewed them.” Fair enough, but maybe if your entire fan base keeps bellowing, the reviews probably don’t really count.
Donkey Kong Bananza, is it worth your time? Yes, if fast-paced platforming is your thing or if you hold precious creative-level designing and classic Nintendo magic among your likes. And to those still on the fence, JaMerv’s words-free paraphrase: “This game way too fun man WTF yall got going on at Nintendo fxckn mad fun scientist 🫠.”
Now, we do so beg your pardon as we dive into the Forbidden Layer. See you at the leaderboards.
