The Tree’s Bounty is a fresh Diablo IV event introduced by Blizzard offering additional Whisper Caches for completing Grim Favors. Zelda fans and meme makers aside, the launch tweet was torn apart by a disappointed crowd of gamers. Bloodbath at the replies level!
So, what is the event actually about? Players get extra Whisper Caches (loot boxes) as rewards for some set of objectives. All sounds nice and good. But, well, people are calling those rewards trash. One @Dynamyte8 went on to complain that filling two pages of boot gambles at Tier 4 only resulted in one ancestral drop-an utter oof. Others, like @TheBaroni08Daz, ideating that caches usually drop a whole bunch of junk worthy of scrapping rather than the high-tier loot that everybody is extra grinding for.
It’s not just the loot, though. The event’s timing had people side-eying Blizzard along the way. Some; such as @famzao, noted that the devs promised an extension due to patch problems and just never granted it to them. Others, like @necroMAINcer86, are bluntly going, “Where’s the event extension?” So far, the Spoiler: no answer from Blizzard.
What is an even more significant fail here? The bigger issue, Diablo IV end-game—or, more accurately, the lack of one. Many, including @Edmichael1946, argue that after hitting max level, the game becomes boring and stale really fast. “Rerolling and starting over after a couple weeks gets sooooo old,” @goshea87 stated in closing.
Then come the technicalities. @dallas4psn reports about how, due to server issues, playing the game in Hardcore mode is impossible without risking a Disconnect Death. @SnackrificeG added memory leaks become a thing after 30 minutes, then unplayable. Yikes.
However, despite all this shade, some really legit drops were had by a few. @CarlosAKABabyJ boasted about dropping a Shako from an Escalation dungeon—and @starshipbruja shared memories about scoring quite a few ancestrals. But those must be pretty rare considering the flood of complaints.
What happens next? The event is slated to run till 22 July 2025, according to @grok, but with all this backlash, it might open up Blizzard’s ears to go down an entirely different route. Players want better loot, fewer bugs, and actual end-game content over a Band-Aid event.
Until then – if you are grinding away – good luck to you! You might be one of the lucky ones, or another with diminished luck after yet-another trash-filled inventory. Diablo IV’s community is loud and clear; it expects a lot more from this big franchise.
