Blizzard has dwarfed the news on Diablo IV update 2.3.1 and the players have been what you may call quite opinionated about it. The patch introduces New Tomes—those cool items that give you a bit of knowledge to work with—yet community reactions range from excitement to being downright frustrated.
The good stuff starts with… Imagine Whirlwind getting its tune-up, finally some love according to Robert @hodlthetoken, and then the “equip theme” functionality being added to the Wardrobe, something that John Doe @Alucard4423 has already been digging. SpiritBorn Rocksplitter with Thorns? This season, oh, so good! Well, not everyone agreed.
The complaints? So many. Nico @guap0_nic0 is mad over pets not picking XP: “Huge oversight,” was his emphatic statement. Elsewhere, Brando @brandojj22 rages about random disconnects across boss fights, “a mood killer.” And let’s not even get players started about the instant-death bug in the Pit, which SinisterSkulll @SinisterSkulll has been saying has been breaking gear and draining gold for months: “800k repair costs?? Fix this!!”
And Necro drama. Anthony @tilizien is begging for pet AI fixes, especially when Mages ignore elites to take down trash mobs. And that Hulking Monstrosity buff? They call it “useless,” since everyone is sacrificing their Golems this season anyway.”
The co-op folk are not spared either. TommyK421 @TommyK421 rattled off a laundry list of issues from buggy Wardrobe systems to missing Aether counts in Infernal Hordes: “Tempering system is annoyingly broken,” he sounded like he’s had enough.
And clicking addicts… Dravic @DravicIsHere contends that we have been experiencing a pseudo-loot filter since Season 4 (hello Greater Affix stars), but there are people like Shura Orchi @OrchiShura5264 who are still demanding the real thing. Garnix @garnix2 replied: “They likely never will.” Oof.
Plus, The Butcher? He is ghosting people in Astaroth’s boss room, according to Mourning__Star_ @Mourning__Star_. Classic.
Because of this silence on Blizzard‘s part, players like DAdams71 @Adams71D joked: They will “check back in 10 years—if I’m still alive.” But hey, at least wardrobe themes are cool.
So…what now? Patch 2.3.1 has been released, and with this many issues still resonating, the devs must have some work waiting for them. Forgotten Souls bottleneck? Dupes? Disconnects? It’s a long list, and the gamers aren’t holding their breath. Until then, it’s back to grinding—warts and all.
