Everyone remembers when specific builds get nerfed into the ground — and they always remember. Daniel Yates is certainly the angriest, with his “I want my werewolf tornado back 😭,” and that’s even with a crying face emoji. One can be forgiven for wondering if Yates would calm down if he actually got his build back.
And let’s not forget the glowing diablo 4 account for context. The “where the hell have you been” started as a question with no context and no follow-up, and a photo of diablo 4 with the caption “where the hell have you been” diablo 4 with no context no follow-up photo no caption no explanation was already enough to enrage players.
The hell-themed streamers of the world were nowhere to be found, but Blizzard’s attempt to open the gates of hell brought it down on them. Instead of legion, they were drowned in player discontent. AJ, known as SuperSaiyan4, kickstarted the replies with “Not playing the disaster that is Diablo 4 is where I’ve been” and the energy dripped with sarcasm.
There is a constant stream of new votes pouring in, and with them, new, louder takes on the game’s state. Even those that have their gaze fixed elsewhere, on other games, have had their voices raised. Captioning a video with, “Playing poe2 cuz it shits on d4,” is GravityCat10989, and someone named Alex McHale stated, “Waiting for poe 2 season 3.” It seems like the ARPG crowd is looking for the next big thing from Grinding Gear Games.
But other games were not the only focus of criticism. The diablo 4 issues were being singled out by the same people giving out the other. Immediately standing out from the pack with endless D4 rant was Ron1nn_ from Australia, “Been playing D2 LOD, you remember that game? Where nobody is teased to by weak cosmetics… So many turned off on D4 because of the greed…” The microtransactions debate is the one thing no one wants to let go of.
