Wondering what to do with the new announcements by Bungie? Let me clarify, to put it mildly, they are rather spectacular! To cut it short, the players of Destiny 2 can obtain an emblem named ‘Unwritten Patience’ as a giveaway just by watching the streams of their favorite game players on TikTok. Incredibly! The streaming platform is TikTok, no less! To get the drops, the first condition is to watch for a minimum of three minutes on the approved @TikTok_US account and the drops will be active till, get this, December 12, 2025, at 9 AM PST. That’s an incredibly long time! A series of doubts like, ‘Will the game even be around then?’ long time. But then again, a free emblem, right?

Destiny appears to have responded to a dire situation by sending out a signal as if asking for help. Therefore, besides it being only a half-hearted community thing, they are getting minor praises or prophecies instead. Surprised? Destiny and its player base are not really the same anymore. Just the opposite! It’s like a broad groan that might be heard from the Tower. A very vocal reaction, to say the least, came from the official tweet of @DestinyTheGame, which is now the cause of a massive… shall we say, passionate feedback? It is no exaggeration to say that the community is quite upset over this.

The first issue, the TikTok thing, is an enormous turn-off for most among the players. Many are just refusing to accept the event. For example, here is one player, JKellemen: ‘Im not using that shitty app, for an emblem’ who honestly was vocally heard by many others. Another user, _Chris117_, was speaking quite directly: ‘Is this what we are doing now?? Fucking shiktok?? Lol nope.’ There is a strong feeling that it’s not worth it for some gamers to get even a shiny digital flair if it’s given only via TikTok which they don’t prefer at all. Heavyoak condemned it as ‘Tikbrainrot’ and that statement was quite accurate and cut right into the heart of the matter.

And then come the confusion. What is the mechanism for this? One player named jervoris asked the big question: ‘How do you even get credit for it? You can’t link the account can you?’ That seems to be a fair question. Luckily though, another user joshy41233, jumped in to inform that the post does mention you will receive a code so perhaps it’s a manual redemption thing. But still, it’s not the smooth Twitch integration that everyone is accustomed to. xTheLostLegendx was just and clearly lost in this, asking ‘How do you even get drops on TikTok?’ A very legitimate question in this brave new world.

However, if there is the main factor for the critics it is the same freebie that was previously offered to Twitch viewers. On Twitch, watchers had to commit a full hour for the emblem. FrustratedGame4 has the feeling of utmost loss as he stated ‘On Twitch I got this by watching for 1 hour …and you saying I could have watched for only 3 minutes on Tik Tok … bruh 😭’ That really hurts, especially if one has already spent and wasted time to get the reward. Damentez_ has also pointed out that it is the same emblem, so for collectors who have already got it, this is a big ‘so what’ moment.

But wait, the replies are not addressed only to TikTok promotion. No. This tweet has become a magnet for every other issue that current Destiny 2 players have. It seems Bungie has opened the doors to a suggestion box and it immediately burst into flames. Besides an extensive list of complaints including ‘GET RID OF REVIVE TOKENS’ (props to TheWockFlock), players voicing concerns about mission items falling out of bounds and causing progress to halt, there are also voices saying just re-launch the first Destiny on PC because, as 3denFPS said, ‘Destiny 2 has not been fun after the last two expansions.’ Ouch!

There were also complaints by players who said they had not received previous drops. JTWeller46 had a whole list: ‘Why didn’t I get the emblem from watching the stream on twitch neither I got the ship for watching for 4 hours…); But xXDeku1984Xx states they have not got their Twitch emblem and ship despite restarting the game. So the announcement of a new drop method, especially on a controversial platform, while old problems persist, really rubbed people the wrong way. Some players tried to look for the silver lining or to make a joke out of it.
