Bungie’s This Week In Destiny update now has the latest edition—what a roller coaster of hype, salty moments, and the much-needed love coming to Warlocks! The Solstice event is on its last legs; a quick rundown of Crucible rewards is presented; the Bungie Store is offering some crazy discounts. On the contrary, the Warlock changes may steal the spotlight from everything else.
First thing’s first, Solstice is winding down now. If you still haven’t managed to give those glimmer shots to your armor or are still chasing event rewards, that’s your last opportunity. The event has been in since a couple of weeks, but there is one last push by Bungie so that players can grab whatever they want before it goes away. And if you want to grab something sweet from the store, the Solstice Sale on the Bungie Store is underway; better support them by buying an emblem (which has some cut going toward the Bungie Foundation).
The main focus of the update, the Warlocks. The community has been screaming for Warlock buffs while Bungie has refused to give them for years. So here we are with the changes, albeit half-aed ones. The changes will reinforce class identity, something Warlock mains have been clamoring for eternally. Right now, the class feels trapped somewhere between support and buddy summoner, and players are insisting that a more distinct line must be drawn between those two magical flavors.
Reactions? Surely a mixed bag. Some warlock mains have just gone crazy with all the celebration of these changes, including Luigi3rx, who said, “Really love how those Warlock changes sound, can’t wait 😊.” Meanwhile, others have weighed in with “Sorry, nothing in the patch notes makes it feel better to be a warlock,” including Ictof1.
So the Crucible recap…is fine? Balance issues are being discussed by players much of which include whether Hunter Smoke Grenades should be nerfed (DLiteLife thinks so) or is Outbreak Perfected and Khvostov just too good for PvP (Twist Ledgendz should be noted).
So the usual chaos from the community carries on, with some crying for buffs of underused exotics (Winter’s Guile), others wanting a buff to Stasis turrets, and some just glad Movie of the Week actually made them laugh (thanks, cal).
This is the ninety-second edition. It is yet another update for Destiny 2 that has induced a big noisy cry, alternating between ecstatic shouts and frustrated whining and everything in between. So there you have it. Warlock mains, this may very well be your time! Otherwise, happy shopping!
Everyone go finish that Solstice grind before it goes away! Or don’t. No one’s going to judge you (well, maybe just a little).
