Update 2.3 will drop for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on June 15, 2023, carrying with it a plethora of quality-of-life features and fixes, the usual portion of mixed reception from the community.
The massive one coming first: AutoDrive. I mean, stress levels could be sky-high with all this chaos on the streets of Night City. Well, now you can couch that stress in your car. So, don’t go hitting through NPCs-certainly unless you want to. And the return of Delamain taxis is assured so that if you’re bored by driving, just hop in and be ferried around by the AI.
Additional features: extra freedom in the photo mode; FSR 3.1 for added smoothness; and finally, for Mac users on Apple silicon, the chance to enjoy Night City using their only rig! Switch 2 players? You get the update too… Not now, though. CDPR has asked to “stay tuned” for that.
Let’s talk reactions: The hype! The likes of @Angelo, who hilariously dubbed the new Arasaka car “preeeeem!!!!,” were grinning from ear to ear. On the other hand, there were disheartened voices like @Stranger., who called the update “skippable” and wondered why it had a live stream at all. Meanwhile, the perennial appeal for console mods went out from @πͺπYikesππͺ, “console mods π€§π€§π€§ plssssss.”
However, New Game Plus (NG+) seems to be inciting uproar. @Potato-sama voiced a need for it, in common with many others. To which @TheSadBigfoot replied, “Don’t play if you’re gonna bitch so much lol.” The usual gamer talk.
In the meanwhile, the question of FSR 4 comes up again. @MarsBoy bluntly asks if it comes with an AMD driver update, to which @Cyclolio cheekily replied, “FSR4 support is included don’t worry π” (We’ll see about that).
Some, on the other hand, remain focused on the small stuff, like @BallinBeerus, who’s still waiting for the cosmetic golden arm to be “cooler than an NPC lmao.” And what about @LucysKisses, who couldn’t hold back an “absolute rubbish” for the update skipping gyro aim on consoles?
Update 2.3 is, then, one more score on Cyberpunk 2077‘s redemption arc. Maybe not the huge overhaul everyone was hoping for, but it offers a lot for anyone who wants to get about in Night City, be it cruising with AutoDrive, taking snaps in Photo mode, or yelling into the void on Twitter.
Ready to go back in? It goes up for download tomorrow. Just don’t expect the smiles to be abound.
