Another reminder is being issued to the Cyberpunker 2077 photo mode contest and letting the divided players down never before has Night City ever been so divided. The CyberpunkGame official account reminded its watchers that the submissions were going to close by 11:59 PM CEST on August 11. While some are excited to show their artistic skills, some take the opportunity to complain about the current state of the game.
Such a regular tweet: CDPR basically wants the players to flex their creative skills in light of the new patch 2.3 photo mode features, accompanied by a breathtaking screenshot illustrating the types of shots they want to see. If you scroll down through all the replies, it is a Nightmare City aptcha of chaos from enthusiastic entries, frustrated criticisms about missing features, and present-by-bugs invectives.
Among those teeming the excitement: CanadianZarPics and decentricity have given their entries with exultant captions on the lines of “See you at the finish line chooms!” Others include Matt54930725, who is little harsher, saying, “Lol how ab you fix all the new 2.3 bugs first.” That burn deserves a Trauma Team.
The most common? Still waiting for New Game+ mode, one of many repeated calls in the replies. User Aymen07461479 bluntly asked: “Can a brother tell me if CD Projekt launched a New Game+ so I can actually care for Cyberpunk 77 again?” Several answered that it will never happen. EXTREMEIYBADMAN also said, “They’ve said ng+ doesn’t work for this game for multiple years now, it also makes no sense with the story.” I guess some players are still holding out hope.
Others are complaining about photo mode. JetstreamWinds: “Buttons not working for me”; AdmittedEnd: “Screenshots don’t save for me”; IgnisDivinus: “Lol your photo mode doesn’t even work on pc!”; and DinoChata: “I want perk tweaks or New Cyberware over photo mode updates any day, this patch is a disappointment.”
AJDraws came showing love for the devs: “I love how much you developers care about the little things,” while Gro3_ commented that the contest was “great for user engagement.” Also, tonyriosx888 amped up the hype for third-person mode in Spanish (translation for the non-Spanish-speaking readers: “please third person mode is what we have been asking for since forever”).
Quite funny timing on the contest, given all the talk of Cyberpunk’s follow-up. Several replies reference “waiting for the sequel” instead of any actual updates; EXTREMEIYBADMAN, meanwhile, is hyped for “what we’re gonna get with the sequel though especially since it’s not held back by last Gen consoles anymore.”
In actual fact, CDPR carries on with creativity on their own terms. They still engage the community on creative endeavors such as this while the players remain adamant about the big updates. Whether you’re here for resourceful and artsy photo ops or chafing for some patches, one thing is without doubt: Residents of Night City still burn fiery. If you’ll excuse me, I gotta get back to putting together some contender-worthy shots before that August 11 deadline… assuming photo mode will cooperate this time around.
