That Cyberpunk 2077 tweet grabbed the gamer hearts by showcasing some truly sublime fanart while the caption simply read, “You remind me… of me. 🫂” The nostalgic fanart, created by the prominent artist whose name is linked with the tweet, distantly features Johnny Silverhand and V in an almost unreal and haunting moment. The replies just ran amok.
Those fanarts are neon-tinted and pretty gritty, full of that loud Cyberpunk aesthetic. It’s the style which halts you and forces you to glare at it for a minute. But the comment section was really where the action started. Witnessing such art unleashed the gamers, with some calling it “thought-provoking ❤️” and others really confiding they’re feeling afflicted by “cyberpsychosis” (me too, really).
Then the whole AI art argument came to dominate the discussion, with one user (@amuse) going through the process of AI-editing of the original artwork with the reaction going south very quickly. “@LakeChoomba” called it “pretty fucked up,” and frankly, deservedly so. The Cyberpunk community is highly protective of its artists, and having somebody alter their work without permission just left a really bad taste in everybody’s mouth.
Joking aside, quite a few of the responses were downright goofy, like “@Zaynnode” demanding “Wheres keannuu john wich,” presumably referring to Keanu Reeves, or “@SimGirlPolitics” getting down to the real questions: “where impressive 🐓?” Classic. “@relaxralex” even casually mentioned they’ll get to Cyberpunk 2077… after DOOM, of course, on Nightmare Mode. Priorities, you know?
On the more serious side, “@JonDault” called CP2077 a “masterpiece” while giving a shoutout to CD Projekt Red in that regard. That shift was backed up by “@CyberpunkFN,” who said straight-up, “I need him so bad cyberpunk please” with a meme. That feeling.
And then, the poetical ones come in, with “@XappyFOX” describing Johnny Silverhand as “a digital specter with blazing eyes and a heart aflame with revolutionary fury.” Damn. Somebody get this man a book deal.
It wasn’t all praise from all though. “@T1000Ninja” had a valid gripe and asked when the Xbox Series X version would finally get its VRR fix. Valid question; probably the wrong time for it though, as this one is more of an art appreciation thread.
This tweet surely speaks of one thing: Cyberpunk 2077 is still basking in an ardent community. Splashing the fanart, debating ethics, or just memeing about it, they are totally down for Night City. An honestly? That’s kinda beautiful. Now excuse us while we drown in that art… maybe tear up a bit. No biggies.
