Publisher and developer King now has the mobile game Crash Bandicoot: On the Run available for pre-order on iOS and Android. The title also has a tentative release date on iOS listed, but both versions will be out for Spring 2021.
Crash Bandicoot: On the Run is an endless runner game that will be free-to-play (with in-app purchases) but require an internet connection. Dr. New Cortex has sent villains across the multiverse to take control of all of the dimensions. Crash and his sister Coco have to bash Cortex’s associates and send them back to their dimensions. Some of the enemies include Scorporilla, Nitrus Brio, and Fake Crash.

Crash has multiple abilities available to him. He can run, slide, and jump against enemies. Crash’s adventures will take him through locations such as Turtle Woods, Lost City, Temple Ruins, the Lab, and more. Each location contains secret paths and hidden island locations for in-game challenges and other rewards.
Players will have to customize Crash, so he has enough power to make it to Dr. Cortex and survive through the island’s evil enemies. If Crash is customized before the battle, players will earn additional XP. Skins and costumes include looks from other famous characters.

While running and fighting are important, there are more activities to enjoy. They include unlocking weapons, gathering items to craft serums and buildings, and customizing Crash’s base.
The game can be enjoyed in either solo or multiplayer mode. In multiplayer, Crash can join up with other bandicoots on asynchronous runs on the island.
A beta program is currently available through the game’s official website. The test run is only for iOS users through the Test Flight app and only for English language-speakers. Players are asked to hunt down bugs and try to break the game, then deliver the feedback back to the developer.
The App Store has listed the expected release date as March 25, 2021. The Play Store has not revealed a release date of any kind. The official game website only states Spring 2021. The App Store release date is not set in stone, and the game may be out before or after the listed date.
By pre-registering, players will receive a notification on their device as soon as the game is available. They can then head to the App Store to download the game if they choose. Those who pre-order will also receive an exclusive blue hyena skin at launch.
