Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Massive ‘Warzone’ Battle Royale Player Count Leaks

On Wednesday, there was a huge leak regarding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s long-rumored Battle Royale mode, which will be called Warzone. As of right now, nothing has been confirmed by Activision or Infinity Ward, but a current rumor suggests that the upcoming BR mode will take a page out of Fortnite and Apex Legends’ book, as it’ll be a standalone application and it’ll be free to play, even if you don’t own Modern Warfare.

Most of the leaked information regarding the Call of Duty: Warzone Battle Royale has come courtesy of reliable COD leaker The Gaming Revolution, who shared in-game screenshots that verified the application’s aforementioned title. In a tweet that’s since been deleted, the noted COD leaker claimed that Warzone will be free to play. He also uploaded some gameplay, but the video was later pulled as he was hit with a copyright strike from Activision.

“Notice the branding: Call of Duty: Warzone,” said The Gaming Revolution while providing information about the upcoming Call of Duty Battle Royale. “That’s because it’s free to play and will be available as a direct download if you haven’t bought Modern Warfare. Just got confirmation that it’s 100% free to play.”

The application’s menu was also leaked ahead of schedule, and it revealed the massive player count for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s Warzone expansion, as the menu showed that each match will be capable of hosting up to 200 players. Of course, this was the rumor before any of the leaks happened, so the news regarding its massive player count is hardly surprising.

As for when the Call of Duty: Warzone application will be released, well, according to The Gaming Revolution, we’re not too far away from being able to jump into the expansion, as it’ll likely be released on Tuesday, February 18. If that’s the case, then we should be getting a trailer for it any day now.

Again, it’s worth noting that none of this has been confirmed by Activision or Infinity Ward. Moreover, the Warzone Battle Royale hasn’t even been teased by the developers. So, even though it’s been rumored for quite some time, the developers have seemingly refused to comment on its development and potential release date.

Season two for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare just launched, so it makes sense for a Battle Royale mode to be added to the game in conjunction with their second season. If it is due out on February 18, then we’ll probably see a trailer for it on Monday, February 17.
