The beta for Black Ops 7 was announced; the countdown had started, and oh, the replies have been……something else! The official Call of Duty account made the official hype tweet for everybody to gather up their squads and bombard the reposts for beta codes. The gaming community went literally crazy in the comments.
Let’s break this down a bit. The tweet was your standard COD promo: countdown emoji, fire emoji, and the usual energy surrounding the phrase “you know what to do”. But scroll down some, and an absolute bloodbath of player frustration appears. One guy puts in:”NOBODY GIVES A FUCK,” basically setting the tone for the entire thread.
Most people talking about Battlefield 6 instead of getting hyped about Black Ops 7, kind of wild. Several comments went along the lines of: “Already preordered BF6 so I’ll be playing that instead.” and “My squad all quit and we are patiently waiting for BF6.” We even have one weird character saying “Battlefield 6 is better.” Period. No explanation, just straight facts in his mind.
But the better with this competition is that the players are already pissed off about concrete issues. SBMM is on the lips of everybody again and again. One player said, “The countdown to more SBMM,” with a facepalm emoji, while another described an entire night of Warzone as “literally 0 enjoyment” because “The SBMM is so thick all we play is level 1000 and other iris.” That-that is honestly the mood.
The layoffs are being mixed into the discussion as well. “Activation is gonna be brutal with the layoffs,” was one comment, so, uh… oof. Timing matters, I guess. And Microsoft gets mentioned right there as well: “Microsoft knocked that food off your dinner table! #yourfired”- Not sure what that is about, but it sounds messy.
The zombie guys are out and speaking as well. One Spanish comment translated to “They only have one bullet left in the cartridge… Don’t try to sell us the items that we couldn’t carry over from BO6 to BO7. We need sense in the zombie story because it hasn’t had any since what happened in COLDWAR to what happened in BO6. Zombies is the only thing that can save you.” That is pure zombie lore goo power.
The cheaters got mentioned at least twice, one player asking: “Witch cheaters,no??,” the other one in Spanish lengthily explained how those cheaters with “imbot and cronus zen” are ruining the experience, and the developers aren’t competent enough to stop them. Yikes.
