Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is introducing a feature that has the entire gaming community debating and working on it. A new leak has revealed that the game’s interface will show players that some of the weapon camos have come from previous Black Ops games. Yes, you heard it right. It’s like the guns are getting a lesson in history, and frankly? This very cool aspect is what lets the whole spectrum of players from veterans to newbies vibrate.
What is the debate about? To be more specific, it is a tweet from HeyImAlaix which was brought to notice by Charlie INTEL, stating that the Black Ops 7 interface is going to have small icons showing the origin of a camo, like Black Ops 2 or Black Ops 3. This is an extremely small feature, but considering a franchise that has already been around for over 10 years and is still very much alive, it adds a nostalgic layer that players respond to very positively. One of the users, RodrigoReloaded, expressed it perfectly: ‘That is actually such a cool detail for people who may have never seen these camos before. Really cool stuff.’
Moreover, it is not only a matter of reflecting on the past. The leak also disclosed some camos, and players are already classifying some of them as classics. Malik Ward known also as _TrippyGaming, saw some design similarities and expressed, ‘Is it just me or some of these are OG skins lol. The cherry blossom and the bacon wrapped looks familiar.’ The guy is correct—these are indeed throwbacks that only the veteran players will recognize right away. Cherry Blossom, in particular, seems to be making a comeback which is making people excited.
Up next is the camo that has created a lot of speculation: Weaponized 115. GamingHornet97 posted a link with just the words ‘WEAPONIZED 115’ and honestly? That camo is almost like a cult figure in the Black Ops universe, especially for the hardcore zombies players. Oukeith84 has already made a hint saying ‘Going to be unlocking that 115 camo in zombs the Echo is a shotty.’ So the zombies community is already preparing for this grind.
The topic of grind is… From this point on, it becomes a little chaotic. The same leak cautions that getting these camos will be a very tedious and time-consuming job for the player. More precisely, it means level 250 for each weapon after two prestiges. Silent K Gaming portrayed the situation with the words: ‘2 Prestige’s and then a Level 250 grind? 300 Levels per weapon? How long are we going to be stuck with the same gun while doing these grinds?’ It is a fair question. That is a huge amount of time with one weapon, and not every player is equally motivated about it.
The conversations in the replies get quite technical when it comes to the mechanics. xTheLostLegendx and others are talking about the chance of weapon XP balancing so that this will not be such a hard task after all. ‘Unless the weapon xp is very good, its gonna be a insane grind,’ he commented. ShaneDylan96 shared that worry with the audience by saying ‘This is going to be the longest grind in existence with how long it takes to level weapons up.’ So, the excitement of obtaining those nostalgic skins is there but it is also accompanied by the reality of the effort to be put into them.
Oops, what was I saying? Oh yeah, the grind. Some players have already started to come up with strategies. Cameron was like ‘Well, I think the easiest way to do it is to get to dark matter and then do the weapon-leveling grind after 🤣’ and… yeah, maybe that is the right way to go. KorruptedBoss shared the simplest tip for anyone who feels daunted: ‘Just do it in zombies.’ The fact is that zombies has always been the laid-back way without the hassle of having to sweat in multiplayer to level up your character.
That said not everyone is in agreement over Black Ops 7. The comment section has its share of critics. Mike H (shde2007) did not mince words: ‘Treyarch has always been the loser studio, no matter how good it gets, Black Ops and rubbish studio “Treyarch” 🤮’ and then he wrote ‘Doesn’t matter. MW4 and Hard Reset are coming next year 🔥’ Thus, the fans’ never-ending rivalry between Treyarch and Infinity Ward continues. ErenYaeger139 even jumped in with ‘Game by the worst studio. MW4 will be dogshit’ which is… A rather presumptuous claim to make. It is pretty easy to see that the player base of Call of Duty has not only become very divided but also very passionate.
