The audience has been waiting, and after just a little more patience, Activision finally dropped the big one. Black Ops 7 is the star attraction of COD NEXT on September 30th, and the reveal stream opens from 9AM PT/12PM ET on Twitch and Youtube. Two days after that is the beta! Those are a couple of heavy hours, I tell you, for anticipation, with the players finally seeing Treyarch’s take on the next big Call of Duty.
The hype is real! If you looked at all the replies to this announcement, you would hear a plethora of mixed emotions-from excitement to demands, outright frustrations. The gamer community is flooding the comment section, with demands for beta codes mixed with criticisms about the course that Call of Duty is taking.
Is carrying forward one of the major topics? Carry-forward has become a huge issue for many players pleading for weapons and content carry forward into Black Ops 7, especially for zombies mode. “Bring back carry forward to bo7 zombies!!” screams a very angry Dewitt myers, with hundreds shouting in agreement. But then there’s that heartwrenching comment by Voodoo_Hendrix, who states “it’s a shame we will not be able to play as him in BO7 cuz they cancelled carry forward” – meaning perhaps Treyarch already went against the concept of carrying forward which allowed players to carry their gear from one game into another.
SBMM, quite the topic, CharlesJhallory condemned the system outright questioning, “Hoping yall announce some core changes with this franchise man. SBMM and disbanding lobbies are killing these games.” And he’s right-In the last few years, the whole Call of Duty community has viewed skill-based matchmaking as an immense thorn in the game’s side, as they want to chill and enjoy fun-level matches, not every single game being a struggle against players at an identical level of high skill.
Then cheating was brought into the conversation, where CommonSenseably said wild half-baked claims regarding the cheat-makers: “making and selling the cheats, and they don’t give af.” On the other hand, CharlesJhallory said he’s seen few cheaters yet quit multiplayer because of SBMM and “shit” – genuinely, mood.
Put practical matters on the table: rlusds wants to know when preinstalled beta will be available, and markwell_gary wonders if he’s going to be able to progress through the season 5 battle pass during the beta’s gameplay. These are the kind of methods and preparation to think about when slowly counting the moments until you finally have your very own hands-on.
The Warzone crowd is curious, too. thatT101guy queries, “When is Warzone Next? I assume its going to be another event since we haven’t heard squat about that game!” While TheUnitedGuide makes a very fair point, “Make a duos for casuals on WZ. Me and my mate are sick of playing with brain dead teammates”-because honestly, no one wants to carry a random third guy who is useless.
