Activision released Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 5 posters, and gamers, well, they’ve all got opinions. The majority of those who have come out to voice support or critique seem to gaze sideways at the art style, as if it has just snatched their lunch money.
For starters, the posters leaked by CharlieIntel have that mass appeal usually reserved for gritty action scenes expected from any Call of Duty title. But that just seems to be what is causing the players to scratches the back of their heads. Some say faces look off; others indeed, full Google, accused Activision of this being AI art. I mean, one user, @DeadSpacedOut, said Elizabeth Grey’s face looked “weird” compared to her in-game model. And honestly? They might have had a very accurate point. The detailing feels… or inconsistent, as if someone slapped a filter right on a screenshot and just called it a day.
The Zombies poster is being roasted harder than a noob in a pro lobby. @PuppyFTW called it the “worst looking zombies poster,” while @BearInALake compared it to “A Gmod parody without the charm.” Ow! Even those hardcore CODs agree that the hype for Zombies ain’t back in the glory days anymore (@GamingWithNuke).
But not everybody is trashing it! Some players (@iCrazyTeddy, @zq7xy) say the posters “go hard” and praise the chaotic energy. If you’re about that demonic parasite life and apocalyptic vibes, the Reckoning poster should be your next wallpaper (@antoniokelley1).
But the bigger question is: Who even plays this with Battlefield 6 lurking around the corner? @SSHdEmon2 simply said, “We all playing battlefield 6 tbh,” and then @BlackedOutVader came out with a spicy comeback with a Battlefield meme captioned “The real man’s game has arrived.” Damn.
Very much expected, the company has yet to come forth explaining the backlash. They better hope the gameplay will itself be the real saving grace from the poster drama come Season 5 or else this is shaping up to be the season of questionable marketing choices.
So yeah, love it or hate it; the posters are out. We now await to see if they will be any good or just another recycled mess.
