Battlefield 6 Open Beta is scheduled formally to come next August 9th, and the community is already abuzz about pistols that will be available. EA and DICE have just given a little showcase about the guns with which players will be armed in this game. Naturally, the community had the more peculiar reactions.
First of all, the free beta opens to the general public on the date of August 9. But if one could get hold of early access codes via some means, maybe through watching some streams on Twitch or something, they would get the full two extra days before anyone else, which I would say is pretty bad luck for those that miss out on it and is definitely going to spoil many replies.
Then comes the good’ol shootin’—some among the community are up and fired and some down on it. The guns seem fairly worth it: with such classics as M4 (that’s left to PrimitiveAK to call the best), it won’t really go down well with everyone. One user complains about loading times in the menu. Another user, @iHuntDads, went so far as to say, “Fire whoever recorded this. Barely even gave the guns time to load.” Harsh, but whatever, Twitter is Twitter.
While the old grudge between Battlefield and Call of Duty is alive and kicking, one of the users, @youlovevally, casually said he would be sticking to Black Ops 6, which, unsurprisingly, did not really sit well with the Battlefield die-hards. The returns ranged from “lol cope” to “Hardline is your favorite? Really??” (which, arguably, being fair, is a hot take).
But truthfully, most are just waiting patiently to finally get their hands on the game, very well-expressed by the excitement of @howell4real: “Haven’t been this excited for an FPS since MW2019.” Same here, good sir. Same here.
Now on to the plan ahead: if you are raring to get in, watch for your inbox to provide the beta codes if you signed up for BFLABS; otherwise, someone set a reminder for the 9th of August and brace for chaos. And if the beta menu turns memorable for its bumpy nature… Well, that’s what betas are for, isn’t it? Feedback.
There’s no doubt in my mind that Battlefield 6 is shaping up to be one of the biggest shooter releases of the year, and that beta will be the first legitimate opportunity for the real judging about whether the game is worthy of the hype. Now if you’ll excuse me, I will go back practicing my “accidentally reloading at the worst possible moment” acts. See you on the battlefield!
